Galactic Beef: The Cosmic Adventures of Star CowDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLNo spoilers, but I will just say this is NOT the type of game-play for me. This was more of an interactive story than an escape room. It felt like more than 30 minutes is just watching the story, which was extremely immersive and cute, but I wanted to ESCAPE, not watch. This would be perfect for younger children, like maybe 8 and up. Kids who want to be involved in the story and who love video games. I was extremely disappointed because I love Crazy Train, but this was nothing like it. I don’t want to knock the ART, time, and creativity that went into making this, because I can 100% tell it took ages and lots of creativity to bring this to life, it’s just not the game for ME.
The Family Fallout ShelterEvasive Escape Rooms - SarasotaEscape roomIRLWhat a GREAT use of space! This room is quite small; my husband and I thought it was the perfect fit for us two — just enough space. There is a particular theme to this room that is SO well done, and unique. However, this room was relatively easy (they rate it a 7/10 difficulty, and I think it’s more a 5/10 for experienced players). There wasn’t anything necessarily spectacular or amazing about this room, but it’s definitely a must-do for any escape room enthusiast.
Bigfoot: Secrets of The SwampThe Escape Ventures - Orlando I-DriveEscape roomIRLI definitely recommend this game for people who like to be spooked, NOT scared sh^tless. It’s just spooky enough to keep you on your toes. The gameplay was unique and fun. Lots of fun props and interactive games!
Two Can Keep a SecretThink Escape Games - Orlando [prev. Escape Hatch Orlando]Escape roomIRLI do not recommend this room whatsoever. Half of the puzzles didn’t work, and the other half didn’t make any sense. A puzzle had to do with left and right, and we were told by our GM to not “see it as left and right” - what are you talking about. The puzzle literally says “R” and “L”. How is that not left and right!? Not only that, but our GM kept coming into the room to “check things”. She came in 4 different times. On top of all of this, a room randomly triggered and opened on us, that wasn’t meant to be opened yet. It spoiled everything. Absolutely none of the puzzles flowed together. You weren’t given a story to connect things to, it was just “Oh well you had to do this because duh! Of course you would know!” They need to have someone walk through the room and make sure the clues make sense to someone who wasn’t involved in the creation process. These puzzles did not make sense. My team NEVER needs to ask for more than 1, TOPS 2, clues in a room - we asked for nearly 10. THIS ROOM IS NOT SUITED FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BAD EYESIGHT. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO HALF THE PUZZLES. THERE IS NOT UV/GLOW IN THE DARK LIGHT TO LIGHT ‘INVISIBLE INK’. YOU WILL HAVE TO RELY ON YOUR TEAMMATES. *COMING BACK TO ADD* I see all these themed photos with the logo taken posted on Morty? We were NEVER offered to take a photo? WHAT!
EXTERMINATED: Terror at the JunkyardEvasive Escape Rooms - SarasotaEscape roomIRLYes, yes, yes! Do this room! This is terrifyingly-fun. The jump scares are tasteful, but keep you on your feet the entire time. I’ve played loads of scary games and some of them are overkill with the live-actor parts, to the point the game is unplayable, however, THIS was completely perfect in every frightening way!
Fallout: Bunker Busters [prev. Doomsday Disaster!]The Escape Ventures - Orlando I-DriveEscape roomIRLI think overall the game would be extremely successful after they work out a few kinks - it’s their newest room, so I’m sure they need to see where they might need to add a little bit more clues or hints as to what to do with some items; otherwise, it was really well done and fun!
ScallywagsRiddler's Escape - TampaEscape roomIRLThis game is so cute! Our group of 3 adults, with varying levels of experience, were able to complete it quickly and without clues! I really recommend this for children/young teens as this is not a scary room, and very immersive. The puzzles will be easy enough for someone younger to figure out when an adult guides them in the right direction. We had so much fun playing this room, we lost valuable time just goofing off!
Lodge of the LostRiddler's Escape - TampaEscape roomIRLThis room was super immersive and perfect for a light spook. It was too insanely scary, and no live actors, so you never have to feel like someone might grab you! We struggled a little bit finding some clues, but we were able to plug and chug and move past. Lots of tiny jump scares; they engineered it very well. Every mechanical puzzle worked, so we never had to break immersion. Can’t wait to come back and play more!
ClueBreakout Games - AtlantaEscape roomIRLThe room is quite large for 2 people, and some puzzles are hard to split between just 2, however, my husband and I were able to do it and complete it! We had trouble with a light puzzle that didn’t want to properly distinguish certain colors, a problem with some tech, and a problem with a water activated puzzle - otherwise, everything ran smoothly. Our GM was very kind and helped nudge us in the proper direction without full on telling us what to do/what we missed.
Echoes at Murder HeightsThe Escape Ventures - Orlando I-DriveEscape roomIRLThis room was SO good! I loved the atmosphere. Our actor was great; he was so spooky… There is one part of this room that scared me SOOOOO bad (IYKYK!). I felt that the puzzles flowed well, but there was 1 or 2 ones we definitely wouldn’t have gotten with our GM’s help. My ONLY complaint is that we could NOT hear off the walkie-talkie. Definitely could have been just a me thing though, because my hearing is already pretty bad - but that was it!
Bigfoot The Legend Awaits - CLOSEDIpanic Escape Room - LakelandEscape roomIRLThis room is a GREAT use of space. It’s very small, but definitely enough room for a party of 4. I wouldn’t say more than 4 would fit, however. This room MOVES! So be careful! It wasn’t crazy or overstimulating (for those of use with a neurodivergence, myself included), so it isn’t too intense. The set is really cute. I loved the puzzles here: they were creative and fun. Overall a great room.
Bros for Life: Fraternity HeistThe Escape Ventures - Orlando Waterford LakesEscape roomIRLThis room is fine — TEV 100% has stronger, well-done, more fun/interesting rooms. I was particularly angry with one puzzle, yet the rest were easy to understand with a little brain power. The set was very cute. Our GM mentioned an “extra puzzle”/“extra lock” that we could skip, which made us hesitant of almost everything. You NEEDED all the puzzles/locks, there was definitely not one to skip. This bit of info made us waste a little bit of time trying to decipher if it was one we needed or not.
Carter's Haberdashery And The Curse Of The Ancient GoldEscape Artists - SanfordEscape roomIRLThis is a great room! The concept is silly and fun, but the puzzles flowed well with the story. There was a few tricky puzzles where you had to use process of elimination, or really think on what they were telling you! Our GM (she was a red head, I feel terrible I can’t remember her name) was so nice — we ended up getting a miniature idol (featured in the room) for $5! Definitely recommend!
Cinema 7Will To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLNew favorite room alert! 🚨 Don’t wait to play this room - PLAY IT NOW! The atmosphere was literally amazing. Looked and felt just like a small movie theatre. The gameplay was immersive and the puzzles were creative and interactive. It was just hard enough that we couldn’t solve things first go, but we never had to ask for help/hints. This room is amazing.
The ArchiveDare 2 EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room is a MESS which is EXTREMELY disappointing because the set design is super cool and the staff is always so sweet. I don’t honk I’ll be returning to this business because I’ve seen them struggle with flow throughout all 4 rooms I’ve done now. The logic leaps are so severe in this room, I nearly told my group & GM I was done, this was about 1/3rd through the puzzle. I was getting so frustrated and felt like I was going in circles, that even the hints weren’t helping.
The DIEnerIntense Escape - Tampa LocationEscape roomIRLThis experience was TERRIBLE for us. We were treated horribly by the GM and the actor. They were extremely negative and harsh. I really liked the setup, and the element’s that go into the actual ‘zombie’ interaction is fun and unique. We’ve played a room at a different location of theirs and had a lot of fun, so I was so disappointed by the way we were treated. 😓 Maybe one day I’ll go back, but I just don’t see myself doing so because I was so upset by the way I was treated.
Disappearance: Last LocationWill To Escape - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThis room is FUN! Some puzzles left our group a little frustrated, and were a bit hard to understand. We also had a hard time contacting our GM when we needed help. I don’t think it was because she wasn’t paying attention, I don’t think she could hear us. There a wooden floor that squeaks (I assume on purpose) and it is VERY loud and VERY annoying. We were getting frustrated with the constant noise. I’m autistic and I was finding myself getting overstimulated from the constant creaking. However, the actual gameplay was very fun and I really recommend to play this room for a good spook without going overboard scary!
Polly's Problematic PredicamentNexus Escape RoomEscape roomIRLThe room is set up well, but I don’t think I’m the target audience for this type of room. I’m a generally shy person, and although I was with a fun group of people I trust and am comfortable with, I was UNcomfortable with the fact I was being watched. We had some puzzles that we’ve never seen before. For a singular room, a little struggle to understand things, and my general uncomfortable-ness, I would not recommend this room, especially at the $50 price point. But again, I don’t recommend it if you’re like ME. I don’t think I’m the target audience.
Click 'N Glitch Arcade PalaceThe Escape Ventures - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLANOTHER AMAZING ROOM! TEV has taken another spot on my top 10 list! There is such a fun element to this game with the security guard, no spoilers, but it’s very immersive and creative! There’s so many nods to their other rooms in different locations. Special shout-out to their staff member, KYLON, who DREW ALL THE GRAPHICS for the arcade games AND DID AN ANIMATION for the room ( that I won’t give away ). SO TALENTED! He’s also an amazing GM; the rest of the staff, including management, is so kind. We will be back for the 3rd room, again!
Phantom Files: The Investigation Of Lockturne ManorThe Escape Ventures - Port CharlotteEscape roomIRLTHIS ROOM IS AMAZING! One of my new favorites! I can’t say enough positive things about this room. The atmosphere of the entire room was spooky, the host was amazing, and the room was super interactive. YES, there was a lot of locks and stuff BUT it was worth it for the interactive fun. This experience was a 10/10.
