Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard, was an English pirate who operated around the West Indies and the eastern coast of Britain's North American colonies. He became a renowned pirate, his nickname derived from his thick black beard and fearsome appearance. Blackbeard only spent about two years (1716-1718) plundering the high seas. Within that time, however, he amassed a great deal of wealth. While the Spanish were busy obtaining all the gold and silver they could extract from Mexico and South America, Blackbeard and his crew waited patiently, then pounced on the treasure-laden ships as they sailed back to Spain. On November 21, 1718 in Ocracoke Inlet, North Carolina, Blackbeard was ashore entertaining guests unaware that two ships led by British Lieutenant Robert Maynard were preparing a surprise attack to finally put an end to the notorious pirate. In the ensuing battle the next morning, Blackbeard was killed. When Blackbeardβs ship was searched, no treasure was found. Treasure hunters have long busied themselves searching for any trace of his rumored hoard of gold and silver, but nothing has been found. Blackbeard's personal ledger notes that his real treasure "lay in a location known only to him and the devil." So what became of Blackbeardβs treasure? Is it waiting to be found or simply the stuff of legend? Back In Time has been hired by an anonymous treasure seeker to go back and search the captain's quarters in Blackbeard's ship, the Adventure, and try to shed some light on this mystery. Do you and your team have what it takes to uncover the truth about the treasure or will this mission "sink" you? Sign up for this mission and find out!

The room is linear and contains a lot of reading and logic puzzles. Not my cup of tea but others in my group loved it. Gamemaster was great.

"Back in Time" really delivered with this escape room β it was a tough one, but absolutely one of their best! We just made it through by the skin of our teeth. The puzzles? Challenging, but really well-crafted. We had to ask for a nudge in the right direction a couple of times, but that's all part of the fun. If you're into brain-teasers and love a good pirate theme, I totally recommend giving this one a go. It's a thinker's delight! π΄ββ οΈπ§ π‘

It was pretty difficult. Alright game, I like Back in Time. Certain charm about them.

Overall, a very fun experience. Game master was welcome and helpful. Liked the idea of a time portal taking you back to Blackbeardβs ship. Would come to another room based on our experience!

Perfect for two players as it was pretty linear in nature and there were some puzzles that had only one person who could solve

Overall the room was fun. There wasnβt much plot itβs pretty straight forward. There was one part of the room that was super unique and really fun! All and all it was a good experience
I believe we were the first customers of the day and the GM felt a little annoyed to be working

Typical pirate stuff
There isnβt really a plot. Itβs pretty straight foreword, find the treasure and a code to get back to the present

If youβre more experienced with escape rooms Iβd say itβs a medium. If this I your first or second room itβs definitely hard

Anything more than that would be too many people in that small of a space.

Itβs more of a difficult room. Anyone younger than that would struggle

The room was pretty dark but youβre provided a flashlight. There isnβt an crawling or tight spaces so someone with mobility issues would be fine.

If itβs a busy day the parking lot is a bit small. But Iβm sure they pace it out nicely

Knowing where to start was the hardest part, but after that, things started to make sense. I love layered or logic puzzles and this room had plenty of them. The atmosphere was okay since their rooms were mainly about puzzles. I feel like 2 experienced players are enough for this room.

Blackbeardβs Lost Treasure is a high seas pirate adventure. Every element was perfectly on theme and the puzzles were delightfully tied into the atmosphere. You can choose the regular or advanced (two puzzles are removed) version. We did the advanced and just eked out an escape with two minutes to spare. There are LOTS of puzzles in this room, but thereβs a good narrative progression to guide you through them all. Getting started was tough for us because we missed the opening clueβ¦ focus on your searching when you get in! The were nearly all mechanical, not combination locks. Gameplay was fast and fun. Everything worked. In advanced mode, you gotta book it through the room. GM was helpful and friendly. Iβd give this room a hard rating. Good room for a bigger group so you can grind on different elements at the same time. Parking was easy.

Iβm not the biggest fan of pirate games. The atmosphere was nice in the game. The only concern I had was the flow and searching part to the game was very difficult. However itβs still a good game to play.
The flow was a little off onto where to start. Searching is a hard toll onto the game
Atmosphere was like any pirate game
Game master was very sweet and provided hints when neeeded.
