The Race It’s the final race of the season for the Vintage Race League and you and your main competitor are neck and neck in the points race. Your crew just received a call from the mechanic that both you and the other team’s racecars were sabotaged last night. Someone has irreparably damaged the four-barrel carburetor. According to the race rules you must present your car for inspection exactly two hours before race time. The deadline will give you only 60 minutes to find the spare carburetor at the Race and Restoration Shop. To make matters even more urgent, if you miss your scheduled inspection time you will be penalized and have to start the race in the final position. With little time remaining, it appears that either you or your competitor on the other team will be starting in the final position. Oh yeah, the keys to the shop are at the track; your mechanic says that there is a security code to get into the Parts Department but since he always has the key he never has to use it. He knows that the code is written down somewhere at the shop, but he can’t recall where he put it. Good Luck getting the security code and getting the replacement four-barrel carburetor back to your team. Only one team can be successful!

166 escape rooms
A family group of us did the room 1 & 2 race. We all got out but sad to say our room was last. I thought it was a good room even for us that had no idea about cars.
83 escape rooms
This particular escape room is unique in that you are playing against another group, in the exact same escape room, competing for time. There are large windows where you can see each other, so you can potentially cheat or steal clues, so it's important to keep your voice down and undo solutions once you find them. Note that even if you "win", the other group does get to finish their experience. As it turns out, I absolutely HATED playing against strangers. Absolutely not for me. If it was against another group of friends it would probably be pretty fun. That said, the real reason I disliked the room wasn't for that. Some of the puzzles were set up terribly. There was a "hidden" clue to which there was zero, ZERO indication of where it was hidden or that it even existed but was critical to finish a puzzle. Colors were not used well. The car was finicky as hell. And one potential puzzle required math skills which I didn't have. Game masters were very nice although they rarely gave you a "straight" clue (usually giving it to you in a riddle, and one of the riddles was plain awful). Also, unlike industry standards where they want you to arrive 15 minutes early, they ask for 20-30 minutes early. Then we had to wait 10 minutes past our start time.

They pitted us against against another team and there were windows so people could watch and steal clues. You could also hear the other team solve puzzles and get clues. When mentioned to the game master they said it was part of the experience however I re-read the description of the room and non of this was clearly mentioned.
I’m putting positive because they were until I voiced my concerns.
