I absolutely loved the entire venue and the incredible attention to detail that went into both the rooms and the game design. You could really tell how much thought, creativity and effort had gone into every aspect of the experience. Our Game Master, Alistair, was fantastic! He was incredibly enthusiastic, and it was obvious that he genuinely loves escape rooms. He was attentive throughout the entire game—even noticing when I quietly mumbled that I was cold and turning the heater on without us having to ask. After the game, he also gave us a really thorough rundown of the room and the puzzles. We were close to finishing, so he even gave us some bonus time to let us keep going rather than rushing us out, which we really appreciated. We played Torquay, and I absolutely loved how many puzzles there were! Every puzzle was beautifully thought out, challenging and creative, while fitting perfectly with the room’s aesthetic and theme. The whole experience felt incredibly immersive. Definitely one of the best escape rooms I’ve played, and I’d love to come back and try perpetual motion next!

The second in our run of three experiences at Elude, ‘Torquay’ packed scenic beachside puzzles and a novel rendition of bathhouses alongside a serene beach. Once again, puzzles pop up and propagate across a run of rooms built to challenge any team’s puzzle solving skills. We escaped in the nick of time and had a blast.

Quite hard with only two people. Puzzles are linear so you have to be quick. This was the first escape room that I haven’t finished. Great vibes though. The GM was very nice and gave us a lot of clues to let us escape, although we did not do it in time.

Awesome room. From the moment we stepped in, the setting felt immersive and unique, and the props were high quality and really added to the experience. We found most of it pretty smooth sailing, but got caught up twice which pushed us just over time. We finished in 62 minutes… so close! To complete this room within the 60 minutes, you realistically need to solve one puzzle every 3 minutes, definitely a solid challenge. The puzzle flow is strong, but it’s clearly geared toward teams with a bit more escape room experience. It’s not unfair, just demanding in a good way. Even though we ran slightly over, it genuinely sparked joy and left us feeling satisfied walking out. Super fun, cleverly designed, and absolutely worth doing if you’re up for a challenge. We’ll definitely be back to try the other rooms here.

Good story, good variety of puzzles

Coming out to Elude I didn't really know what to expect. We had heard about Torquay but given the pretty unique room themes here I went in relatively blind. I think it's important to note that the rooms here are very challenging. They want you to get your hours worth after trekking out to Galston and thus room is absolutely chock-full of puzzles. I would say probably the most puzzle dense room I've played that even included a pre-warning from the owner that we'd need to solve a puzzle about every 3 minutes to complete the room under time. In saying this, I had an excellent time. We were busy for almost our entire hour and even got a little worried we may not escape, somewhat rare in our escaping old age. The puzzles were linear and clearly marked, it's so nice to know which lock is for what puzzle and not have to find out via trial and error. A clear sign of a room made for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. Julia and Darren were lovely hosts and the passion and love put into their rooms is incredibly apparent. We'll be back soon for more rooms, perhaps with reinforcements.

After hearing so many wonderful reviews about both Elude Escape Rooms and Torquay, I was very excited to give these guys a go and can happily report that I (unsurprisingly) had a fantastic time. First and foremost it’s important to know that the rooms you’ll find here are some of the most difficult and puzzle dense experiences in Sydney, even warned prior that a solve rate of 1 puzzle every 3 minutes is necessary for success; a challenge I was more than happy to tackle (that’s a lie I was stressed). What strikes you with Torquay from the word go is how immaculate the room is, every prop, set piece and puzzle looked incredible and operated exactly as intended. This is a real credit to owners Julia and Darren and their clear passion for both escape rooms and the industry. The puzzle flow here was unique, varied and seamless with everything clearly signposted, each prop had a purpose with absolutely NOTHING wasted, I loved it. With a charming little story that has a strong connection to the designers, it’s not hard to see how much love this room was made with. Even with all our experience, as a group of 2 we escaped with a little over 5 minutes left on the clock, very daunting and very humbling. Thanks for having us Julia and Darren, we’ll be back for more rooms, puzzles AND PINS very soon! 9.3/10 🔏🧩

Did this room together as a team of four. We completed this room after Perpetual motion so our brains got to warm up a bit. Loved the design of the room and how it was decorated. Had lots of puzzles to solve, some very creative that we hadn't seen before. Liked how all the puzzles matched well with the theme too. At no point did any of us feel bored or that we didn't have something to do. Everything flowed really well. We didn't finish within the time but luckily we were given a couple minutes extra and were able to escape in that bonus time. The escape rooms at elude definitely humbled us and gave us a good challenge.
