The Infamous John Brown carried out his raid on Harpers Ferry on Oct 16, 1859. Imagine what it would be like if you can alter history and help him escape his jail cell after the failed raid. You and up to three of your closest friends will travel back in time to Oct 15, 1859. Mission control has arranged for your group to spend 75 minutes in the jail while the jailer has stepped away. Your mission is to locate the jailer's cell key and then stash it in a location that only John Brown would know so that once he is arrested, he will be able to free himself. While factual snippets of John Brown and his raid are included in this room, you do not need to have any prior knowledge in order to complete the mission.

Definitely a unique room. It's always nice to find a room based on local historical figures, and this one both was about John Brown AND mentioned him and his experiences many times throughout the game, thus keeping it in-theme and a little educational. Since we're not from WV, we knew very little about John Brown, so this was surprisingly enlightening. Room is pretty unconventional in the aspect that one of the first tools they give you is NOT one you'd see in most escape rooms. Throughout your time here you may have to cast aside your previous escape room experience and think a bit differently. Some usual no-no's are instead a thing you must do in this one. Make sure you follow the signs, though, open all places that have the possibility of being opened, and keep an eye out for small details. Room is very in-theme with the story and consistently remains that way even until the end. Mostly linear but it wasn't too bad. GM Deidrich was great and helpful, Sarah was very welcoming and the place is run by their family, so you can tell a lot of love went into the place. VERY spacey lobby, I was really impressed!

This is a family-owned place and it's amazing from the moment you walk in the door! This physical escape room was well done and tricky (but in a good way!) with the puzzles. Our GM Diedrich (sp?) was great and we got to speak with one of the owners/creators, Sara (sp?), who was clearly passionate about the experiences they've created. Great place and we'd highly recommend it!

Going by their recommendation on the site.

They handled it very well. One of the magnetic locks didn't open but they came right in with a solution...no more than minute or two passed.
