The wind does not whisper, it howls. Cascades of rain threaten to drown the world over night. Your only focus is to escape the storm. You find a derelict building. A sanctuary that sways in the gale. Exhausted, you fling the door open, clamber inside and a gust of wind slams the door shut behind you. Grateful to be out of the ever widening skies, you are told about an old tale used to keep children from wrong doings. “Deep in the outskirts of Sheffield sits a dark forest, deep in the forest lies a dilapidated child’s home. Locals claim that many moons ago it’s Headmaster used to pay for his own immortality with the souls of the children. This was until the longest and darkest storm ever recorded struck; lasting over 12 hours and finishing at exactly midnight. Locals claimed, that evening, they could hear children’s screams whirl in the winds, that they had been visited by the children in their nightmares. And that their souls were bound to hell and that they would be back.” With that final word, the clock strikes 12:00am and you hear the front door bolt behind you. The witching hour has began. It’s just a story, it’s just a story, a fictitious story, a mere tale used to keep children from wrong doings. Nothing to be afraid of. You told yourself.

We were sceptical visiting here seeing the other mixed reviews it gets however it’s fair to say we were very pleasantly surprised by our experience! We were lead into the room blindfolded and as soon as the narrator finished we were off, straight away the atmosphere was creepy, a pitch black room with only our phone torches to guide us! I won’t share any more specific detail as not to spoil any of the wonderful puzzles however there is an excellent system to this room where following the lights as they switch on/off guides you to the next room with puzzles to solve throughout! The room is very immersive and the puzzles for the most part match the theme very well, with most requiring a little searching and thought to solve, alongside a couple of combination padlocks! Overall we really had such a good time, our hosts Khad and Liam were great too! We could tell they were watching us throughout! We will definitely be back to try another room here (although I’m not sure we’re brave enough to do abducted 😅😂)

Extremely short game, there’s about 7 puzzles throughout the whole experience. Annoyingly have to share a walkie talkie as a torch. Quite a few things didn’t work or worked in the wrong order. Someone was actually monitoring us during this game though.

This game has a good atmosphere and puzzles that fit the theming. Good use of dark spaces in the room.

Good immersion and creepy setting for the story. Seemed to end abruptly and a bit odd. Generally don’t like this company’s rooms because they were 45 mins and you got to pick 3 items from a list of starting aids like and extra clue or a torch. Just give me what I need please.
Ended quickly but ok
Creep setting worked well.

Good room, puzzles flow and are well thought out. The room is well decorated and quite big - there are several rooms to get through and much to explore.

Lots to explore in this one! Not too scary, just a little of that creep factor, would recommend for sure!
