57 escape rooms
It's ok as far as rooms go, but nothing really impressed me with this one. The space is way too big and open, and some of the puzzles weren't exactly clear on what to do. Out of all the other rooms at Kato, this one we asked for the most hints.
Gameplay
Kinda frustrating at times. There was one space that tripped us up the most that created a roadblock with our progress. There's *some* contextual clues, but there were multiple of some things that caused us to struggle. Under pressure, you don't have mental space to rummage.
Atmosphere
It felt like a regular office space, just with pictures of magician-themed pictures on the walls. One thing was pretty cool to move from one space to the other, but that was it. It's a large space that feels like the puzzles are so spread out (and time-wise, you wouldn't be able to add more to fill it in better).

Lovely staff at Kato.

Story
It's ok. You're solving riddles to prove yourself good enough to be an assistant. Didn't really tie into the gameplay much, though.

The Magician’s Office is designed as a family-friendly room that intentionally balances search-and-find elements with logic-based problem solving. Some teams excel at puzzles but find the discovery aspect more challenging, while others love the exploration—so experiences can definitely vary from group to group. The larger, open space is part of the theme, encouraging observation, communication, and teamwork. That said, we understand how that can feel overwhelming for teams who prefer more tightly guided puzzles. We truly value your perspective, and feedback like this helps us continue refining our games and clue systems. If you visit us again, we’d be happy to recommend a room that better matches your team’s puzzle-solving style—just let us know! Thanks again for playing with us at Kato Escape 🧙♂️🗝️
