"…Constructed a hidden tomb to prevent any soul from obtaining the Eye of Horus…" Thousands of years ago, the gods Horus and Set shook the skies in a battle of thunder and lightning felt across the earth. In this epic conflict, Set escaped with the Eye of Horus, its light known for protection and prosperity. Even though Horus claimed victory, Set disappeared and constructed a hidden tomb to prevent any soul from obtaining the Eye of Horus, which he forged into a pendant worn around his neck. Knowing the Golden Head of Queen Nefertiti was the only item that could number his days, Set captured and hid it deep within the tomb. The ancient scripts speak of a Sacred Chest that could imprison Set, as long as the chest is sealed with the Golden Queen. Your crusade has found the Sacred Chest and traveled for twenty moons to the lost tomb. Recover the Golden Queen, capture Set, and release the light of the Eye of Horus!

This room had the potential for a 12/10 rating from me. The atmosphere, size of the escape room, and the majority of the puzzles were great. This was our first room here, so we were unaware of the flow. You get three life lines (they basically just give you the answer) and unlimited hints. What I didn’t know was that we were going to be getting constant unsolicited hint pics. We tried looking to the cameras and letting them know that we didn’t want hints unless we asked, but they kept coming. Next time we will try and make this clear ahead of time. The majority of the room was pretty straight forward. There was one puzzle that even after multiple hints we couldn’t figure it out, so we used a life line. After the game we asked the GM if he could explain to us that puzzle. He said he didn’t have time. Pretty frustrating when we spent a decent chunk of change, still had time on our clock, and it wasn’t busy. I’m all for hard puzzles, but if I can’t figure them out I like to know what I missed. Lastly, no AC. It was soooooo hot in there, we were all drenched in sweat. All that being said, this room was awesome and I definitely recommend. With a different GM, this definitely would have gotten a ‘loved it’, no AC and all. They said they are expanding and working on new rooms, I’m excited to play them all. I just hope they expand their HVAC units too lol.

I really liked this room but there were a few negatives. First it’s about 80 degrees outside and the room felt very hot so the AC wasn’t working great or they keep the rooms hot. This was extra irritating since some of the puzzles require a lot of moving. The other issue was one of the puzzles was incredibly difficult to the point where we just had to use a lifeline to get the answer. I’ve never seen a puzzle that tough and neither has my friend who has done over 70 rooms thought it was a bit much. When we asked about how you would solve the puzzle after the game, the GM said he was too busy to explain it. Besides those negatives, I really loved the design of the room. It was one of my favorite room in terms of aesthetics. Also most of the puzzles were fun and engaging.

We loved the atmosphere and the puzzles (except 1 that was literally impossible to figure out). Immersive and fun experience minus a not so great GM and no AC when it was 90 degrees out but otherwise we enjoyed ourselves!

This would’ve been a “love” if it wasn’t for the GM. The room was super cool with fun puzzles, good effects, and even a few jump scares. Lack of AC made it uncomfortable but for an hour we can deal. First, we got annoyed with him giving random, unsolicited clues even though we kept saying “please stop unless we ask for clues.” Like sure, tell me if I need to push something harder or whatever, but don’t tell me how to solve a puzzle if I’m actively doing it. Then, there was one really difficult puzzle that didn’t make sense. We ended up using a clue to move past, which is fine, but when we asked the GM at the end to explain it he said “I don’t have time.” So rude. For $32/person you can take two minutes to explain.

This is a fantastic company that has incredible sets in its rooms. I played this room right around the time it first opened which was a few years ago. At that time this was one of their weaker rooms. The puzzles were ok, a few of them could be brute forced, and one of the puzzles was one of the most confusing, convoluted puzzles I’ve ever done. However, the staff seemed to acknowledge the trouble groups have with the puzzle and I truly believe were committed to improvement. Even though this review seems harsh, I would recommend trying out the room because Erebus Escape is a good escape room company and I’m always excited to play their games.

Nice design. Nice mix of puzzles.

Thematically this room was really cool. Some of the puzzles were pretty difficult, however. You really have to pay attention to details. The game master had to give us a couple minutes extension in order for us to be able to finish
