19 escape rooms
After completing over 100 escape rooms, this was undoubtedly the worst. I have never left a review of an escape room before but was so frustrated by this entire experience that I felt compelled to publish list of low-lights including: - Four different mechanical effects did not work - to the point that the game master had to come in and manually operate them so that we could get our next clue from each; - The GM discovered afterward that they had failed to place the final clue in our room - making a successful escape impossible; - None of the puzzles made sense and the video βcluesβ offered by the GM were just vague suggestions that offered no actual help in moving forward; and - We spent 75 minutes working in this room and solved only one puzzle without the GMβs help. For experienced escape room enthusiasts, it is almost inconceivable that this should happen. If you enjoy standing around for an hour working on unsolvable puzzles and wondering what ancient Egypt has to do with an early 20th century train car, then this may be the game for you. However, if you enjoy logical puzzles, working special effects, and coherent theming, donβt waste your time or money here.
