At The Hop Ice Cream Shoppe

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff at Dare 2 Escape are so nice! We love the GM Mandy. Always sweet and always helpful. This room was very hard for just 2 people. Even with the 75 minute time limit there is so much to do. I wouldn’t have too many people though because the rooms aren’t very large. But it’s multi room which we love. We will be back in September to do more here!

Yup, like everyone else says: this one was hard! We don’t normally need clues, but we needed several throughout this experience. Clearly our brains don’t work like the designers’ brains. The space is small and even with our group of three there were times when one person couldn’t help at all just because of space constraints. Fun though!

This was a very fun room. It’s on the smaller side. I’d recommend 3 people max for the room for a comfortable fit. There were a good mix of word puzzles and tactical/scavenger style puzzles. The decor is very well done and does truly make you feel like you’ve been transported into the storyline. 8/10

EXTREMELY tricky! Bring your thinking caps!

First we had the best GM we could have asked for Mandy did an amazing job! This one kept us on our toes down to the last few seconds. You truly feel like you're in an ice cream shop. And it had a variety of puzzles which we appreciate. Not scary at all with lots of fun back to the future references.

I absolutely loved this room! My coworkers and I played 2 rooms at this location and got the hang of it for this room, while we struggled a bit during the first one! We found out after that the first one was their hardest 60 minute room, but they were both still incredibly fun!

We ended up doing Video Store and Hop’s when visiting Dare 2 Escape but Hops was definitely the more boring of the two. I felt like the puzzles were much easier, though the company itself rated it as a much easier escape room than the Video Store. Some of the codes ended up being guesses for the order and we had multiple moments where we would unlock or open something and we had NO idea what to do next so we’d have to ask for a code! I feel like those kinds of moments detract from the experience rather than needing codes once you understand puzzles, you’re just struggling at doing them. Also the space is super small and very difficult for everyone to be involved with over 2 players! No more than 3 recommended!

This was a cute room with a pleasant theme, and a pretty good use of space, I will say this room was HARD for our group of 3 and we got stuck on a couple more puzzles than we would have liked that we just couldn't quite get and piece together, but that being said it was a good time and we got out with just enough time left.

I have to agree with the rest of the reviews that others have made. While the theme and room design were really cool, the puzzles weren’t great. There were ambiguous puzzles that were very frustrating at times. It was as if, for each puzzle there was one single train of thought to arrive at the correct solution and if you didn’t think that way then you would not know the answer or you would have to ask for a clue
