You are the elder sibling born into a Royal family. It was your birthright to inherit the throne upon the King’s death, but an evil secret plan executed by your younger brother and some corrupt castle guards has left you exiled from the kingdom. The corrupt guards were given strict orders to capture you if you ever returned to the castle. When the King and Queen died, your tyrannical brother ran the kingdom into despair. Disgusted by the decline of a once prosperous and peaceful land, you decide to risk your life to set things right. Disguised as a pauper, you’ve managed to make it back to the castle undetected, and with your knowledge of the secret passages in the castle, you’ve made it into the King’s Study. The castle guards are escorting your brother to a feast and they’ll be back within the hour! Can you prove that you’re the true heir to the throne?

So far my all-time favorite game - so many cool puzzles and the props were very lifelike

Quest for the Throne is a solid game with a variety of creative puzzles. The set is not as immersive as some of the other games at this location, but is still high quality. There are a couple of puzzles that could probably be tweaked a bit to lower confusion. Some things were difficult just because they were confusing, instead of because of complex design elements or dynamics, and I think that impacted our experience in this room. I played this game in a team of two on the same day I played Aunt Edna’s, Blind Tiger, & Lucky Dice. If I played it at another location, it could very well be the stand-out favorite, but because Expedition Escape has such a fantastic array of games, I would actually have to say it was my least favorite of the day. I don’t think this game reflects Skylar & Marisa’s brilliancy as much as it should or as much as the others do. Perhaps it is the theming (medieval escape rooms are a bit tired), so I hope they consider revamping or retiring it next to build something new. I would still recommend this room to anyone visiting! Thank you to Jack, our guide, for chatting with us about the games!

We loved this room and the communication style puzzles! We’ve done 3 rooms at Expedition Escape, and this was the most challenging with the “thinkiest” puzzles. Yay a lil math!

Likes this room. Did it once and did not finish first time. Went back a few years later and redid it and finished. Great time.

Sort of an “old school” style escape room but still a well designed one. We narrowly escaped but at no point were we just sitting in frustration, we were always moving and engaged. Very well themed and interesting puzzles involved.

This room was very challenging and fun! Of the 3 at Expedition Escape that we’ve played, I would rank it 3/3 (Diner > Aunt Edna > Throne). I still would recommend it because it’s designed beautifully and has great moments (along with being a fantastic theme), but some of the puzzles were confusing. Confusing in the way we needed more and more clarity and hints and that took away from us feeling independent and self reliant. Story was fun, elements were fun, and oh beware, there’s a whole other dexterity beast lurking for you too.

Fun room! Puzzles and atmosphere were both decent. Probably one of their weaker rooms but still better then a lot of rooms I’ve done. Good introduction to escape rooms.

A lot of frustrating puzzles, with an old style design with just tons of combination locks around the room. Can’t say I enjoyed any of the puzzles really. Theming was fine, I guess.
