The Lighthouse

This was truly one of the most disappointing rooms I’ve played. The set is just bad and looks like a regular office space vaguely themed with lighthouses with no ambiance, immerison, ambient sounds or anything. The space is also small and cramped even with just two of us. Puzzles were either just mundane tasks and busy work or so poorly designed that our GM spoke to us on how it works before we could even get our hands on it. The end is very anticlimactic.

It seemed difficult for our crew. It was a cool to turn on the big lighthouse light.

This was our favorite room here (we did them all except the kid room). We found it to be medium difficulty but would definitely understand where some would find it hard. The challenging puzzles just happened to play into our strengths. It’s a small space so more than 3 people would be tight but there’s lots to do. We loved the use of more old school technology. Good story and theme.

We had a great time doing this room. Once again unique puzzles and a lot of fun. Family friendly with older kids maybe.

First room I've done that was lighthouse themed! The rooms are a bit smaller and would be better for 3-4 people who've done a few escape rooms already. I think the mechanics of the puzzles are a bit too advanced for newbies. Some of the puzzles didn't make the best logical sense or not work when you'd input the right answer. Be sure to carefully read everything in the room to solve many of the puzzles!

This was a VERY hard room. I’ve done quite a few rooms, and this one stumped us from almost the very beginning. It’s non-linear, so that makes tough as it is. The puzzles were unique and pretty difficult, but there is one in particular towards the end that makes very little sense, and we spent a good 20 minutes trying to figure it out before we lucked into it. Also, multipe times when we asked for hints, we did not get a response from the game master. I don’t know if they were having difficulties on their end or what, but that was a little frustrating. Atmosphere and set design were pretty cool, but this was just a very, very hard room - one of the hardest I’ve done.

I loved the props and creative puzzles as I always do at Golden Puzzle Room. Once again, I do wish they paid more attention to the setting, walls, etc. They have some of the best puzzles, but the atmosphere really pulls me out of the game. I absolutely LOVE their puzzles though. Kind and balanced GM, really passionate owners. Overall, we love this place. I’m giving it a heart for the unique puzzles.
