Cool theme! But the room was AWFUL! Very few puzzles and one did not work- staff was unhelpful and gave answers instead of hints (we also asked for gentle hints/nudges). Overall we would not recommend this company- we’ve been to 2 different locations and all the rooms we’ve done are disappointing!

This room is the room you take people to if they have a negative assumption about escape rooms. Be it the belief about being locked in a small space, or only having their knowledge of escape rooms come from a sitcom. Even just walking into the room is a major part of the experience, as you're greeted with a surprisingly tall room decorated far more thematically than an average "box and locks". It's practically themepark levels of detail, cemented even more by an actual animatronic that gets revealed later in the puzzle path. It has been a while since attempting this room, so I don't know how much is pertinent to the current experience, but it is just that memorible. Some puzzles are more intimidating than others and come across more complex than they actually are at first glance. Others actually are somewhat confusing until you realize that something that does not remotely look like a push button is actually a push button. A certain puzzle involving plants and potions is a bit less frustrating once you have this info. Overall this room is very interactive with very little to complain about. This room actually converted an escape room wary friend into another enthusiast. If you're only able to visit one room at Axxiom Newark, make it this one.

Less themed as a cash-in for a certain magic franchise, like the Wilmington location, this room gets to thrive with an original story that doesn't feel hamfisted and is a straight-forward fantasy adventure.
Atmosphere
This room will spoil all other escape rooms for you, at least in this immediate region. The level of detail and theming was staggering.
Customer service
The game master was very enthusiastic about the room, and also taught us the "two finger" rule about opening doors and moving objects, which we've carried with us ever since.

You can easily get away with two, but 3-4 is usually the magic number when tackling most escape rooms. Despite the kid friendly theming, I would not advise fulling the room with 8+ children, especially without an adult present. (Too many people treat escape rooms like a short-term daycare.)

Could be elements that can frighten very young impressionable children, but it's all clean generally quiet fantasy theming.

A child would need to be either fairly familiar with puzzle solving or generally cognizant of the concept of escape rooms. The theme park nature of this room would likely delight a younger audience, but they will still need to be experienced to some degree in order to probably contribute.

overall, i liked the room, but wasn’t a fan of some of the puzzles. the last puzzle we didn’t even complete all the way and it marked itself as completed, which was just kinda stupid and confusing. we got out so it was whatever but it was frustrating because we wanted to do it ourselves. probably wouldn’t do it again and would really only reccomend it to people who are close by.

the last puzzle we only put in 5/7 of the pieces and it marked it was completed and let us out of the room. the game master explained why, but it was frustrating that we couldn’t do it ourselves. (we put 5 bottles in the slots, two were sitting right outside, and it marked it as correct, despite the bottles not being in the slots and also not being in the right order.)

the back half of the room was up 2-3 steps from the rest of room. there was one part of the room where you had to step onto a platform and move semi large objects around the platform.

We didn't like this room, but we played it two years ago and I don't remember much. I do have a note though that it was really annoying that there was no audio in the room. Maybe they've remedied this?

This room was beautiful aesthetically and visually. We had a great time being surprised and immersed in the story, design, and flow of the room. While some puzzles gave challenges, that can be expected at any given room. The highs were high and the unique elements truly were one of a kind! Winning this room felt like a big success.

WOW. Everyone in my group was absolutely shocked when we walked in the room! This room looked absolutely stunning! The theming was awesome and made sense to the plot. While some of the puzzles were a bit confusing, they made sense after the fact. Had an awesome time!
