In 1920, the dry law came into force, a law that prohibits the manufacture and sale of alcohol, among other illegal acts. Said prohibition means that the high demand for alcohol by the population is not satisfied and inadvertently favors illegal contraband on the black market. The number of federal agents who monitor compliance with said law is scarce, so much so that there are still some places where these illegal practices are being carried out and they have not been discovered.
