You are an experienced ghost hunter. You and your team of professional phantom wranglers have been commissioned by the Association of Historic Relics in Gold Hill (AHRGH) to find, entrap, and eradicate the ghost of “Big Stan” Cukla. Big Stan haunts the abandoned Gold Hill Mine #6 located within the 120-year-old Back Street Mercantile building. It is believed that Big Stan was responsible for the disappearance and, perhaps, murder of a young miner named Aaron Klein. Aaron was the suitor of a beautiful store keeper named Elizabeth Moyle, whom Big Stan also had affection for. Aaron disappeared on the eve of his marriage to Elizabeth, just before their vows could be pledged. Forlorn, Elizabeth Moyle spent the remainder of her life wandering about the Gold Hill area in search of her lost lover. Your mission is to gain access to the abandoned mine, capture the ghost of Big Stan, then recover the wedding rings of Aaron Klein and Elizabeth Moyle. Only then will Aaron and Elizabeth be forever united.

Quite possibly the most adorable and unique room I will ever experience. When I say adorable, I mean middle of nowhere, charming couple, slow paced life, with a woodburning stove in an old mercantile building. This sleepy little town was completely off my radar despite us only living about 30 mins away. I’m so glad this escape room brought us out there to discover Gold Hill, NC. Hear me out, this is a very DIY escape room with some high tech elements, but also duct tape can hold magnets to things, but for me this diversity added to the charm. But don’t come in thinking you are going to get an experience comparable to production level rooms, this is a mom & pop place in an 100+ year old building, you will still be aware you are in the back of their general store. The room is based on local lore and has real antiques to match the time period and take you back in time. Such a fun evening in a cute tiny town run by the kindest couple.

This was a rather fun & unique game experience. Not incredibly difficult for experienced players, but well themed & made you think in some different manners. Would definitely recommend and would love to see more like this.

On paper, this should not work. This is a random single escape room in the back of a old-school general store in a historic out-of-the-way rural town. BUT IT'S WONDERFUL!! The owner could not be nicer and more welcoming! The room is crazy good with very different kinds of puzzles that we had not encountered before and a VERY good flow! The props & special effects are so high-end, one would think you are a high-end multi-room company! In short, go do this room! It's worth going out of your way!
Nice flow, really interesting. Despite having done
Great! We're in an old general store that's connected to an abandoned mine. But the props! The effects!! Everything was a 10/10!
She felt bad the previous group was running a little over, so she gave us free non-alcoholic signature drinks!
Yes
Yes! 200%! The puzzles are not your run-of-the-mill by any means.
It's supposedly based on a true story involving the miners which plays to the larger historic attraction of the town. The integration of the puzzles and ghost catching was AMAZING.

High tech
It's a mix of both locks and really cool high tech stuff!

Not at all
The cave itself might be a little hard for someone in a wheelchair. There's also at least one sound and one visual color clue.

Not exactly. It's (the community itself) a little hard to find in general,

This was such a fun escape room! The owner really made the experience so exciting. She was very pleasant, and there were many aspects of the room that were unlike any escape room I’ve done before. Great all around ❤️

Honestly a cute little room in the middle of a cute little town. The owners are super friendly. The game itself is pretty fun. I wouldn’t say it’s the ultimate immersive escape room or that it’ll blow your mind. But there’s a nice mix between lock boxes and tech items and it has at least a decent flow to it. I had fun regardless! Would recommend!
