The Wild West

There were some things I really liked and a bunch of things that really missed the mark. I love the idea that instead of being the Wild West in the past, it was a Wild West theme park. Very West World. I think the puzzles and designs in the Wild West area were stronger than the modern area in both aspects. Several things that you would solve and then something silently elsewhere or in another room would open. The modern aspect overall was a let down.

The game master wasn’t really paying attention towards the end, claiming we lost when we explained the last thing we did and was like “oh, well that was it so congrats” . Otherwise it looked really cool, it looked like an old saloon and had a surprise in it.

The games plays a lot like a 8 chapters of a great western novel stitched together with the last few chapters written in a different genre and style. I like an escape room with a twist but it felt like too much of a jump. Good puzzles and great set design but felt a bit schizophrenic.
