It seems so: its founder, the great Professor Lock, has decided to sell his academy to his worst enemy, the criminal Jim Key! He is to the Professor Lock what Moriarty is to Sherlock Holmes: a brilliant adversary with diabolical plans!

For the students, the hour for a revolt at Lock Academy has rung! Dear adventurous detectives, your mission will be to discover what this dangerous sale is hiding for the sake of the world and prevent it from happening.

In 60 minutes, this investigation worthy of Back to the Future, will transport you through different ages between retro 70s and the future, with incredible special effects! With your team of 2 players minimum and 6 players maximum, embark on a unique mind-blowing adventure!

This is a good and creative room that I felt had some pacing and design issues.

Like with LA Confidential, the story starts right from the lobby which has a designated area for this room with a few props that set the scene.

The first section of the room (the Professor's apartment) is a very classic escape very similar to the other LockAcademy rooms, except for the use of a live actor for a few puzzles. Once again, the cutscenes are entertaining, well acted, and, if you've played other LockAcademy rooms, characters like Jim Key, the Professor and John Doyle will have successfully become memes and may get a few chortles out of you.

The second section (the time machine preparation) is in my opinion the room's weakest section. It is purely a task of following instructions from a screen where the difficulty lies in finding the required labels on the walls. We spent way too much time here in a small and not very interesting room.

The third section is by far the room's best setpiece. It is presumably the 2077 version of the professor's office taken over by the villain Jim Key. This room is decorated in dark contrast to its counterpart, with a huge clone tank in the middle, newspaper clippings on the walls telling of the dystopian alternate future, and what I can only describe as "villainous"-looking furniture. It also has my favorite puzzles of the game. The main problem is that these puzzles are sparse and we only spent around 15 minutes here. After that it's back to the time machine 😟 for the climax. The final puzzle in the time machine is better than the middle section but is still somewhat underwhelming for a climax.

The future room also features an AI assistant that gives guidance/hints, Eva (through which the GM speaks with preset lines). Dialogue with Eva is very funny, but the voice is a direct copy of GLaDOS from Portal. That would be forgivable if she didn't also offer to sing "Still Alive" from Portal. I would prefer if the room stood on its own two legs and didn't rip off content from established products passing it off as its own, especially since it has already developed its own universe of characters.

If I was designing this game I would make it so that players spend 50% of the time in the future office, 40% in the present office and only 10% in the time machine. The focus on the time machine to the detriment of the more beautiful rooms, and the light rip-off of Portal make me give this room a Like and not a Heart. I much prefered the simpler and better paced Lock Academy games like "Tres Cher Lock" and "A Near Perfect Crime".

This room was very fun!  The puzzles were logical and the the room had good flow.  My only criticism is that sometimes the puzzles felt instructional (simply following steps).   Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a very fun and engaging room. We completed this with 2. The gm’s are active and involved here and they have a good sense of humor. We did the room in English and had a great experience. Highly recommend. Thank you Pierre!!
