You find yourself trapped in a strange Laboratory belonging to the mad scientist Dr Crowl. As you search the room, you quickly notice a bomb and a timer counting down. You also see several peculiar objects. Some you recognize, like the 3D printer pen, the burning laser or the vat of slime. Others you have no idea. They must be the key to survival, but can you figure it out in time?

70 escape rooms

Similar to Treasure Island this is made for people who want to do a lot of stuff. You will definitely have to split up in this room and there are probably puzzles you will not interact with at all. The puzzles I did were very enjoyable and my favorite puzzle is in this room. The story and atmosphere give leeway to the gameplay but are well executed for what they are.

Unser GM Jon war sehr hilfreich, lustig und überzeugend als deutscher Hilfsprofessor. Die häufige Verwendung des Wortes "und" war ein klasse Detail.

This one requires lots of smartie pants brain power so thankful for my group to carry us through this one, haha. Would be heavy feat for a group of 2 unless y'all are expert pros. Lots and lots for a group of 4 to do. The room can adjust to the group though, can ask your GM for more details on this. Loved the storyline share by our GM Jon, can't believe we got to experience 4 different personas by him with 4 different voices/accents all day today lol. Dankeschön, Jon!

Fantastic room! Old school with a lot of locks, but all the puzzles were fun and there was clear direction on when to do each puzzle. So many clever puzzles. I especially loved that the faster you go, the more puzzles you get to do.

Gameplay

Flowed very well, and you get to do more if you go fast!

60 escape rooms

A biologist, a physicist and a computer scientist walk into an escape room laboratory... This sounds like the opening to a great joke - but no joke, this was a great room! This was my 53rd escape room (47W - 6L) and I played as a group of five adult players with similar statistics. The room was well decorated, every puzzle was in tip-top condition, and the puzzles were very engaging, with even a few very novel ones! The room was non-linear and very mechanical (lock & key). I love lock and key rooms - call me a Boomer. My favorite part about this room was the task board which allowed for all five of us to work on our own task tracks (we solved one quickly so the GM opened a sixth track of bonus tasks which was awesome!). After we completed the room (19:48 remaining) it was fun to walk through the tasks with the other team members to see what they solved. Each of us having our own task tracks was nice so that everyone felt like they were fully participating. This was not a scary room (we won't do scary!), parking was easy, and the staff were very friendly and playful.

Gameplay

The puzzles flowed well and there were several puzzles that were novel and fun!

Atmosphere

The decorations and puzzles were in tip-top condition and fit the theme perfectly.

Customer service

Our GM (sorry, I forgot his name...) was funny and respected our teams request for no hints.... although we eventually asked for one.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

I really liked the theme and the science-related tasks.

Story

TBH, I don't really listen to the story, but the story was consistent with the room theme.

Difficulty

Medium

We played as a group of five adults who have played 53 rooms (47W - 6L). Don't let our quick escape time fool you into thinking it is an easy room; it was a challenging room with great puzzles.

Game tech

Mechanical

I love lock & key rooms, so this was right up my alley.

Ideal number of players

4

We played as a group of five adults, which was great, but you could play with fewer, or more.

Scary

Not scary

We won't play scary rooms.

Minimum age

10

I put ten years old only based on a typical ten year old attention span. But if you have a younger enthusiast, by all means, include them.

Was anything broken?

No

Everything was in top condition.

Live actors

No

We won't play rooms with live actors.

Physically active

Somewhat

There is the usual scurrying around, but nothing strenuous.

Accessibility

This would be a difficult room to play if you have any of the above listed disabilities. But I think the room is wheelchair-friendly.

Easy to find location

Yes

Parking

Easy

There is a dedicated parking lot. We even brought our dog and checked on her in the car between rooms (we solved three of their rooms today). Fortunately, it was overcast and cold.

While not the strongest in theme. It maximized the number of puzzles. Straightforward 31 puzzles possible. (10 optional for smaller/slower groups). Every puzzle enjoyable and room directs you in a straightforward way from one puzzle to the next. Room also easily facilitates parallel play if your group likes to divide and conquer

Individual puzzles were pretty novel but overall theme was pretty lackluster. However solid flow and good puzzles

Atmosphere

Lab with dozens of unconnected puzzles. But would still recommend tbh

Just as many puzzles as they could put in one room. But good if that's what you want

This was a fun room! It was a less modern lock-based room, but I loved the simultaneous puzzle tracks on different rows, and the types of puzzles. In the middle of the game, the mad scientist game in and added the sixth row because we were doing great on time. The game was well-designed and balanced

Not bad. Puzzle heavy. Didn't get the premise during the escape but in retrospect, I see the intent. The faster you go, the more puzzles you get offered. Only managed to make it to the 4th row.
