Very high production value, and some really unique puzzles compared to all of the other rooms we've done. But for our group, it was arguably too easy, as we got out in half the allotted time, and wished we'd slowed down to appreciate how fun everything was along the way.

7/10 Gold Rush is the 5th room I've done at The Escape Game company, and unfortunately falls within my bottom half of rooms there. The theming was great I will say however, which really increased my enjoyment. The plot itself was rather weak and strange, but it's an escape room, I don't need a Hollywood script necessarily. Overall the room is still good, don't get my wrong, The Escape Game company generally does a good job of rooms even if they aren't the "best" they are certainly a good quality and good experience to bring along those that may not be hardcore "Escapers". Puzzles in this room were pretty hit and miss for me, lots of incredibly straight-forward solutions and answers that jumped out at you without respecting the puzzle solving fun of pondering a solution for a while. One puzzle was brute-forced as there seemed to be no indication besides trying several sequences of numbers, though maybe I missed this. There was two rather unique puzzles that were quite enjoyable, but hard to describe them really as puzzles as I say that. They were cool "mechanisms" for lack of a spoiler-y description and made the room enjoyable to that end. Overall, like the two recent experiences I had at TEG, the rooms were just over too quick. There seems to be a lack of substance among some of the rooms, and I find it hard to believe it is just because we were a group of 4. Both this and Timeliner I found myself thinking that the puzzles and rooms would continue, just to look at the paused time on the screen, have our GM walk in, and realize we still had nearly half our time left and had used 0 hints. I still rate this above average because it is a GOOD room, it just may be more geared to the younger crowd or those more inexperienced with escape rooms in general, or just for 2 people.
The flow felt fine, puzzles were often over before you knew what happened, and the ones that took a long time did so because things were hidden maybe too well, or just not obvious in their applications.
Great theming per usual for TEG. This is expected and half the reason the rooms are as enjoyable as they are, even if they are some of the easier rooms I have done.

Unfortunately not, lots of similar mechanics and puzzles seen throughout rooms within TEG and basic rooms in general I have done.
Nearly rated this thumbs down due to cringy/tackiness, but it is a decent enough story for younger groups.

Super fun and really cute! This was one of the more interactive ones Iβve seen with a lot of different pieces going on. Really enjoyed it!

Havenβt yet found an Escape Game room (or any escape room for that matter) that I love quite as much as Gold Rush. Fun, beginner-friendly puzzles, set design and atmosphere like no other. Me and my team find that we keep comparing every room we do to this one, simply because it was such a positive experience. On top of that, when friends ask us what our favorite room weβve ever done was, itβs always a resounding βGold Rush!β

The last room and the transition to the last room were amazing. There is such a cool puzzle in the last room that I still haven't seen anywhere else. There are a lot of unique puzzles throughout, and the theming is on point. I have only two complaints, but they were enough for me to knock this down from a love to a like. 1) There is a puzzle that requires a fair amount of dexterity and can only be done by one person. The range of motion is very limited which makes this harder to do. Honestly, we might have spent like 10-15 minutes on this task alone which was just frustrating. 2) The last puzzle is math intensive, and there is no board or anything to write on so you have to be good at mental math if you're trying to do this the legit way. I have a degree in mechanical engineering so I would say I'm pretty good at math, but this was just not clicking because I am horrid at doing math in my head. Upon analysing this puzzle after completion, I do see that the easiest way to solve this is through guess and check, but I really just feel that escape rooms should never have any math based puzzles in general besides very basic addition/subtraction.

Did this with about 8 girls and it was fun! Great design and decor and puzzles were not too difficult for beginners.

I have played this game 3 times now in various settings, and Iβve loved it every time! Super cool environments, fun challenges, and a lot of variety to keep everyone involved. Really cool and unique set elements really set this game apart!
Very fun, with tons of variety! And I enjoyed the physical challenges, though there was some luck involved in my opinion. The logic puzzle was far too difficult when I played alone, but in a group we got it quickly
