The room and Ambiance was super cool. And some of the puzzles were cool. But the whole points system and QR code stuff kinda just felt like filler. Plus the iPad was annoying to use.

Customer service

Our GM was fine, a little rude tbh. Made it seem like our faults for not knowing some things.

The room itself had some really great ambience and design, but the iPad dynamic really hinders the experience. While you do the room you're supposed to scan QR codes and answer quiz questions on a provided iPad- half of the QR codes wouldn't scan because of lighting/reflection issues, and doing an online test isn't as fun as doing real puzzles! I was told by a friend that they played a version of this room in the past that didn't involve an iPad and that definitely sounds like a better experience.

Weirder Stuff is a room based on the show Stranger Thing, so think supernatural happenings in the 80s. The room itself is not traditional, but instead points-based. There is a main set of puzzles that are essential to escape, and they are very easy. Then there are a lot more nonlinear puzzles to solve for points, a bunch of discoverable QR codes, an entire 25-question quiz, hidden areas, and even cutscenes. It’s very overwhelming for smaller groups, but probably a blast for bigger groups. There is fun nostalgia for 80s kids. The score system wasn’t my favorite, but as long as you are ok with that aspect, it’s a lot of good stuff.

I’ve never done a room with this “points-style” experience before and now I want them all to work that way, it was such a great method of play!

Game was very straight forward! Loved the fact that there are side missions included in the escape!
