As you and your fellow adventurers stumble through a mystical wood you find yourselves in front of an old cabin. As you head towards it you begin to hear the echoes of a cursed tale — the story of a malevolent Witch whose wickedness was challenged by a brave and noble Warrior. Their battle raged but ultimately it seemed the Warrior’s blade was no match for the Witch’s dark magic and thus the Warrior was transformed into stone under the Witch’s curse. If you wish to survive and find your way home you need to break into the Witch’s cabin to create a magical elixir that can transform the Warrior back — otherwise you may find yourselves as the next stone statues! Malediction is a heavily interactive escape room experience. It emphasizes immersive interaction and team building quests within the game between the players and the actors. This game features a ‘Dark mode’ that players can select to change the tone of the game to a raunchy mature rated-R version. Pro Tip: Do not play ‘Dark Mode’ unless you are ready to be berated and humiliated by the actor. It is not a scarier version. This game has strobe lighting and fog effects and is 60 minutes long.

The GM was amazing just wanted to start by saying that- he really made us laugh! But this type of escape room really isn’t for us and we sort of knew that going into it but decided to give it a try anyways because we’ve reached our limit on good escape rooms left in LA. Definitely similar feel of the amnesia room - more experience-based and less escape room with actual puzzles and things to solve. The atmosphere is amazing and the ending to the room was unique. Besides that it’s just two rooms that have little to no puzzles to solve and just more speaking with the in room actor/puppeteer the entire 60 minutes.

This escape room offered a unique and interactive experience, different from the usual escape rooms. Our game master, Jasmine, was excellent and added to the overall enjoyment. The room required us to engage in some unconventional activities to receive the next puzzle piece, which meant getting down and dirty 😏 at times. If you're not comfortable with that, especially in front of friends, this might not be the best choice for you. However, for those looking for a distinctive and memorable challenge, this escape room is highly recommended!
Our GM jasmine kept bullying our friend 😏

It’s a fun room. Not your typical escape room, but unique puzzles and interesting game play. I would highly recommend!

Did this room for my bachelorette! I have done many escape rooms but my girls are still quite new into it, brought them here and we all enjoyed the the raunchiness and fun of this room. Super fun and the effects worked and didn’t give problems. Super nice staff, my team was late but they were nice about it. Thanks

Questroom offers 3 versions of the same room: Spell Breakers (kid friendly version), Malediction (adult version), and Malediction Dark Mode (adult version with mature R-rated humor and interactions). My group and I played Malediction Dark Mode, which is what this review is based on. Malediction Dark Mode is a thoroughly enjoyable game for groups looking to let loose and indulge in adult level antics. Fair warning: this is not for the easily offended or sensitive. All players in the group should be aware that they will be participating in tasks that heavily invade personal space, plenty of which are sexual in nature, so make sure to play with people you are comfortable with. Also, this is a task-focused game; rather than relying on puzzles, groups must complete small activities to advance. For those still willing to take on the challenge and appreciate this type of humor, you will be rewarded with a fun and fulfilling time. The dialogue is hilarious, and you will be roasted while having the opportunity to throw back some shade yourself. While the set design is spectacular, the story is pretty straightforward, allowing the banter and interactions between players and characters to take center stage as the stars of this show. The more you are willing to give, the more you will get. These types of theatrical games are few and far between, so make sure to try this one out if you are ready to embark on a profanity-laden adventure.
The GMs at Questroom are welcoming and excellent. The characters in the game treat you like trash, which is very much appreciated.

This game has variations including kid level, normal game, and ‘after dark’ which is what we did. This review is for that variation. It is a raunchy fun weird time. Like real weird. In a way that I haven’t laughed that hard in a while. As an escape room, the puzzles were good, it’s a big space so half of it I didn’t even see how it was done, but most of them are done by interacting with…creatures. I will leave it at that. This is not traditional which is why I enjoyed it greatly. We had a lot of fun. It helps if you are willing to let go, have a weird time and get goofy with your friends. If you want a challenging puzzle room I wouldn’t recommend this.
Christopher was our GM. He is awesome and goes all out for this room.
