Just after the cyclone three weeks ago, the priceless Askar relic went missing from a dig site in the Bujang Valley in Malaysia. It’s been assumed to have been stolen by the deranged anthropologist Dr. Vanderwolfe, who went missing around the same time. No progress has been made on recovering the relic, except that several cryptic items were found in Dr. Vanderwolfe’s study. Malaysia’s National Museum invited Intrepid to put together a team to decipher the clues in Dr. Vanderwolfe’s study and search for any further clues. Trans-oceanic passage on the club’s private train car is included. Can you solve this baffling mystery?

This was our 100th game played! 🎉 It also made us (a group of two) feel like geniuses. We finished with 24 minutes to spare and while we didn't ask for any clues, we did have to be directed at something (we heard "something" move, but could not find it!) This game had some very clever cluing and a few multilayered puzzles too, which have become some of my favorite types of puzzles. We also very much liked their use of lighting to direct you, in mapping and in solving. Having played Tailor and Jewel at this location, I can say this felt like the easiest for our duo, if only due to the amount of things to do in the other two rooms.

It was a fun room. I thought it was the weakest room here, but it was still pretty neat.

Dani was a fabulous GM, really got the story going in a fun way. We completed this room with two adults and three kids/teens and everyone had a great time. It is marked as "not scary" but did have low light and immersive music that made our youngest participant uneasy. Puzzles were fun, well built and unexpected mechanics that made it all a fun time!

We took the kids to this one, as it was rated medium. The puzzles were well thought out, and we did need a few hints to complete. The kids were able to participate (12 and 14) which was really great.
