Just after the cyclone three weeks ago, the priceless Askar relic went missing from a dig site in the Bujang Valley in Malaysia. It’s been assumed to have been stolen by the deranged anthropologist Dr. Vanderwolfe, who went missing around the same time. No progress has been made on recovering the relic, except that several cryptic items were found in Dr. Vanderwolfe’s study. Malaysia’s National Museum invited Intrepid to put together a team to decipher the clues in Dr. Vanderwolfe’s study and search for any further clues. Trans-oceanic passage on the club’s private train car is included. Can you solve this baffling mystery?

This is a fun room with a pretty good set and some interesting puzzles. I liked their other two rooms better, but I still had a good time in this one. Great clue system that keeps it on theme.

The stolen relic was probably my least favorite of Intrepid’s games, it wasn’t bad, it just didn’t do anything to blow me away, the set was good, and so were puzzles, just nothing super exciting about this game for me.

Really cool rooms. The atmosphere was immersive and puzzles were clever. It was more of a linear puzzle. I did think there could have been a bit more puzzles

I would say 4-6 people just cause anymore and the room would be too crowded

After doing the other two games we bought a gift card for 20% off to return and do their third game. This game had a fun story and great decor but it was a little on the easier end. We had a group of 3 and though we did ask for some hints early, we ended up finishing with plenty of time. The puzzles were really cool but a little sparse. Not scary at all and some unique elements. I’d recommend the other 2 rooms in this company before this one

I was really impressed with this room! The decor, puzzles, and props were amazing! We encountered several puzzles which were novel for us, but they were logical which made us pretty happy. This was my 42nd escape room (37W - 5L) so I still consider myself a novice and I played with two other adults with similar statistics. We felt the room was fairly linear with a nice mix of techy and mechanical puzzles. The staff were very welcoming, enthusiastic, and patient with us. Before entering the room, we were told a fun story and our GM was very animated - it really added to our excitement. As an added bonus, customers who have a little time before or between playing rooms should attempt the quests in the lobby. We usually try to play without hints, but today we needed one but finished with 13:19 remaining.
The story was fun and the room was beautifully decorated. The story flowed very well and everything stayed within the theme.
The set design was fabulous. Everything was in perfect condition and was high quality.
The GMs were awesome. We were promptly and enthusiastically greeted when we arrived. The pre-story was delivered with energy and humor and the GM respected our request for no hints (we ended up caving and asking for one).
Yes
Several of the puzzles were novel for me and it is hard to choose my favorite, they were top-notch.
The plot carried seamlessly throughout the room (tbh I don't usually listen to the story, but the rest of my group does, and they enjoyed it)
Hard
Based on my limited experience (42 rooms: 37W - 5L), I would say this is on the low end of hard or high end of medium. Fortunately, one of my teammates is an escape wiz so I can coast on her coattails.
High tech
The room is a nice mix of both, perhaps a bit more tech-y though.

We played as a group of three which was perfect for us.

I chose eight years old only based on the typical attention span. The room is family friendly so if you have a younger escape enthusiast, they should certainly be included.

There is the usual rushing around plus a little crawling. Nothing strenuous.
The room is large enough for a wheelchair but the latter part of the game might have a few obstacles. Vision, auditory and color abilities are needed.

Fun room, 2 people was fine. Family friendly and had some pretty fun puzzles but most were pretty simple to solve.

Room was pretty cookie cutter, puzzles didnt really stand out to me.
Flow was a little confusing, last puzzle was kind of annoying. Think main problem is how dark it is.
Set design was kind of bland. Didn't really feel immersed.
GM was awesome and friendly.

My family of four enjoyed this room because of the immersive set and familiar storyline. The best escape rooms have multi-step puzzles, which increases the difficulty and extends the play. This room has several puzzles like that, and we thought the flow of the game progressed nicely, but were surprised to get to the end rather quickly. Finishing the room in 26 minutes left us a bit unsatisfied overall even though we liked the room as we played it. That being said, there were several clever and well-thought-out puzzles that we enjoyed and will remember as highlights. Use the Morty weekday coupon to get a great discount on an already well-priced room. I’d say this is worth doing for beginners or a smaller group of 2.
