Ghost Light

This is one of those rooms where I kept thinking that I knew EXACTLY what to do on a puzzle...and it turns out I didn't. Close, but no cigar. Happened on a few of them and I'm quite honestly unsure whether myself or the clueing needed a little work. It was probably me because I still found the room enjoyable, although it lacked the ending satisfaction of a TRULY excellent room. The theme was novel, the GMs were awesome, and although I'm not a big fan of the written clue system, this was probably the best I've seen it done. I enjoyed The Bird a lot more (did not get to do any other rooms) but this is worth playing too.

Of all the 3 rooms, found this to be the easiest (and shortest) by far. We finished the room in 34 minutes with our group of 5, no hints, and we were told by our GM that it was a top 5 performance for Mysstic rooms, for which we felt honored. I did remember saying out loud after finishing the room, “That’s it?” which betrayed a sense of disappointment in myself wishing there was more I guess. With that said, lest I sound like I’m complaining, some really creative and beautiful set design that added to an immersive and fairly satisfying experience. This one is a decent heart rating for me. Surprised however to see this above The Bird for finalist in TERPECA 2025. 🤷‍♂️

Best rooms I’ve been in in a long time. My only critique would be I wish they had more rooms.

Amazing room, especially for anyone who enjoys theatre. There were several puzzles I had never seen before and I really enjoyed. There was one puzzle we got stuck on for a long time - we had the right idea, but there was one small caveat we kept missing, which wasn’t the easiest to understand based on the puzzle. After getting a nudge it was obvious what the solution was and I can see how we should’ve gotten there. The puzzles were all really interesting and unique. MyssTic definitely puts an emphasis into unique stories and immersion and it shows! I would recommend their rooms to anyone visiting NYC in a heartbeat.

This was such a cool escape room. If you like theater, especially if you like backstage, you will really enjoy this room. If you could take or leave theater but enjoy escape rooms, this one had some really cool and creative elements that you’ll enjoy. It wasn’t too easy, but not too difficult either. I wouldn’t play this room with more than 4 players. It was perfect for 2 experienced players.

Fun theme! Not scary or too spooky. The story line was unique and the puzzles were as well!

Very fun. Some clever misdirects. Unique puzzles.

Aaand that’s 100 rooms!!!!! This one was great! Very unique. I’ve never done a theater-esque room before. It had a concept that I’ve seen used once before in an escape room. It will never get old haha. The final sequence was very memorable. Second best room at Mysstic.

I absolutely loved this room and would highly recommend starting with this one if you come to MyssTic to play multiple of their experiences. The theming of this room is so well done and I even learned something about the room’s namesake from our incredible game master, Meeka.

Fun story that felt very New York— it’s no wonder this is one of the most highly recommended games in the city. The marquee set piece was a highlight of the entire location. That said, this room really suffered from poor lighting in some areas.
