The best escape room I've done so far. The puzzles were challenging, and storyline was great. Literally finished with mere seconds to spare.

I was scared of anything spooky but this room was great! I quite liked the set but it lacked just that extra umph in terms of props. Puzzles were okay but ultimately amount to shouting across the rooms to figure out object/number/letter correlations. Also you can hear concurrent players in other rooms. GM was very sweet.

If you have any mobility issues I strongly do not suggest this room. Half the room is up a set of stairs that you will definitely be going up and down multiple times and one of the aspects includes a crawl space. If your party is able bodied though it’s a fun experience. I liked a lot of the puzzles and the theme. I’m not good with horror and had a reasonable time.

We decided to do this room because we liked the campground so much! This room definitely earns its prior awards (though personally I still think I preferred the campground slightly more!). The decor and set design of this room are superb — be warned there are lots of stairs to climb (although personally I love that, I would not say it’s the most accessible). The puzzles are varied, unique, creepy, and have a lot of satisfying triggers. Def some general wear and tear, but nothing that severely dampened the experience. And the final puzzle was particularly great at bringing in many sides of the room together (and made easier by the fact that we had three people stationed in different areas of the room) We can’t wait to do all the rooms at 13th Hour!

A lot of ground to cover, and the final puzzle I’m not sure we would have been able to do as well without almost all of us in a different position

No jump scares, but def serial killer-y!

I would say it’s pretty adult themed!

Everything about the Grand Parlor was unique and exhilarating. You’ll love it. The only complaint is how hot it was in there. There’s no AC!!! I felt faint and almost passed out.

Really loved this room. A strong mix of puzzles using locks and tech, a great story thread throughout, and tons of unlocks and expansions. Communication HEAVY and puzzle-dense, but absolutely worth it.
There’s a LOT of things to do, and communication is key. Lots of different clues / inputs / mechanisms, and a LOT of space unlocks. The 2-floor nature provides some interesting communication tactics, especially with a lot of code transmitting for time. Falls into the trap that 13th Hour typically has with 1) too much thrown at you that you cannot solve yet and 2) multiple places to put the same code, but does alleviate through some signposting.
The set just kept opening up, with really unique and interesting set pieces, props, and interactions. Everything felt really lived in and appropriate to have. However, the straight printer paper on the wall at points is a little disorienting - like weather it a little bit…
13th Hour staff is always awesome, hands down. Sweetest and most honest people.

I hadn’t ever played a game w/ two floors before, so that was very interesting. In addition, the general theme and tech, even if simple, really lifted the game up with some magical moments.
The story flowed perfectly throughout, with some really lovely and touching scenes and everything flowing nicely. You felt like you were actively pushing the story forward throughour.
Hard
LOTS to do, across multiple floors and rooms. Communication needs to be top-notch throughout. Very interesting multi-step puzzles. Potential info overload.
High tech
Balances the line between locks that make sense and tech interactions that work. A great blend of the two which all felt purposeful. Used blacklight in a way I didn’t immediately groan at. Massive plus.

You need people. Just period. You will not get out with 4- people. The more the merrier with this game, especially with the floor plan.
Spooky
Some light elements of horror, but more just general spooky vibes.

Probably for the older kids due to the puzzle density and needing to really contribute alone to win.

Did not do with live actors due to it not being the season, but apparently highly recommended.

You WILL need to constantly go between two floors via a staircase unless you want to be locked out of half the game. One person will need to be okay with dragging themselves through a space (not saying much more intentionally).
Major thing - you NEED to be able to go up and down stairs consistently to play this game. Not ADA / wheelchair accessible. Color differentiation needed for puzzles. Sound needed for one puzzle, along with most puzzles requiring communication without being able to see each other. Lots of reading. At least one non-claustrophobic, fully able-bodied player needed to complete endgame.

My 2nd favorite escape room ever, 1st being the campground both rooms by 13th hour. What a company! This game is the biggest game I’ve encountered; you have an entire house to yourself pretty much, multiple rooms, multiple levels. But you don’t notice as you’re flying around trying to do all the puzzles. It can get overwhelming as there’s tons of locks and combos to solve and you don’t know which goes where. But with enough trial and error seasons enthusiasts should be able to make headway. The experience of the game is worth it. We had 4 people and we needed a little extra time even with a steady streak of clues. Also when we went in the summer there was no AC so it was a bit hot 77 degrees. There were also other games going on at the same time so you can hear other players voices. And there was no music. This would have the perfect experience for me if temperature was regulated, there was more privacy and a light soundtrack. But the game was so good, these were some minor annoyances.

We came in with high expectations for The Grand Parlor given all the rave reviews, and in many ways, it really delivered. The space is massive — multiple rooms, multiple levels — and the production value is top-notch. It’s one of the more visually impressive and creative rooms we’ve ever done. That said, we also found ourselves echoing what a few other reviewers have noted: the sheer volume of puzzles, many with multiple components and little clear direction, made it hard to know where to focus. Some early puzzles were actually gating progress, but it wasn’t obvious that they needed to be solved first, which meant we lost a lot of time working on things we couldn’t yet complete. A gentle nudge from the game master at that point would’ve made a big difference. We’ve done a ton of rooms and consider ourselves relatively experienced, but the early linearity paired with the overall non-linear feel left us a little frustrated at times. Once we did get past those early challenges, we felt like we were constantly racing the clock — and ended up needing more hints than we typically would’ve liked. We did escape, but the final stretch felt more like being guided through than solving it ourselves at times. All that said, the set design and creativity in the puzzles were phenomenal — there were definitely moments and mechanics we’d never seen before. With a bit more clarity upfront or a longer run time (75–90 minutes would make a lot of sense here), this would be an absolute all-time favorite. We still gave it a “Love” for the sheer scale and originality, but if you go, don’t be shy about asking for an early hint or two if you find yourself spinning your wheels.

Parlor has been on my wishlist to do for months now. Finally did it for my birthday, and boy does it live up to the hype. It’s a huge room perfect for 4-5 people with plenty to do for everyone. Not as spooky as their other rooms but you definitely get lost in the room. Communication is key to escaping under an hour. 13th hour is truly the best when it comes to rooms and I look forward to seeing what they do next!
