EXIT: The Game - The Gate Between Worlds

The Gate Between Worlds was the 2nd of my EXIT escapades and my goodness was it a difficult box. This box took a totally different approach to the first EXIT box which meant refiguring out how to play the game. Rather than following riddle cards you are travelling through an interdimensional gate between worlds. Each world represented as its own little puzzle book. As stated above this box is by far one of the hardest I've done due to the complexity and logic jumps in some of the puzzles. Where possible we refrained from using help cards but inevitably had to use some. There was a large variety of puzzle types in this box some significantly easier than others. Travelling to the different worlds really added an element of immersion to the game, looking forward to venturing to the next world before you'd even finished your current. The EXIT games are always so creative but the finale for this game has to have one of the coolest puzzle reveals I've seen to date. The Exit Game delivers on many levels. 1) Range of Difficulties 2) inexpensive for a group 3) Take Home fun 4) well designed 5) high quality This stay at home option for obsessed escapists is definitely a great option. It’s a great option for large families (that suffer the burden for the entire rooms price).

This is a tough tabletop escape game that literally requires out-of-the-box thinking and ingenuity. Much of the puzzles revolve around a central item, and it’s actually quite clever how the game keeps innovating how the item is used. Another central mechanic is the different worlds, and I was impressed by all the puzzles hidden within each one. It took us a long time to get through this one, but since it’s one you do at home, you can take it at your own pace. Be warned that once it’s technically a game you can only play once.
