Our group had a wonderful time with this room! This is a great option for groups whose favorite part of an escape room is puzzling. High-quality puzzles with a lot of variety, with little spectacle, but still strong tech so I wouldn't consider it an old-school room. I really appreciated that many of the color-based puzzles also included different patterns to accommodate anyone who might struggle with color differentiation. Boxaroo knocks it out of the park once again! ⚠️Flash Warning⚠️ Request a seizure-friendly room if needed. Apparently a seizure warning is hidden in the waiver, but no one in our room knew about it prior to entering the room, even after having called Boxaroo ahead of time to ask about accessibility. None of us are sensitive to flashing lights, but this could have been catastrophic for someone else.

Thank you to the staff for accommodating us by masking!
⚠️ Flash warning ⚠️ Request a seizure-friendly version beforehand if needed, and tell the GM ahead of time if there isn't anyone in your group who is able to crawl.

This room is a puzzle room, with some of the most fun and cerebrally satisfying puzzles I’ve ever seen in an escape room. The set was solid and the story was good too especially for a room of this genre. I could see 3-4 people being ideal for this room, but it was still doable with 2. Difficulty: Medium + In-character game-mastering for the intro to give storyline, not just a video or boring text to read + Some of the most mentally satisfying puzzles I’ve ever seen, the Aha moments felt particularly strong + Super unique and creative puzzles, and each one was different from the rest + Mostly non-linear nature helped puzzle flow + Set really looked like an art gallery + Ending delivered on excitement that was building up throughout the room Areas to improve/ Personal preferences - There was heavy wear on many of the locks - One puzzle could be bypassed through random guessing, but not sure how common this is - One puzzle required an assumption that probably needed some clueing

Of the 2 games I’ve played at Boxaroo, both were top notch. Our game master had to do some acting at the beginning, and it was very believable and immersive. The game itself had an interesting theme and the set design made me feel like I really was in a small art gallery. Most of the puzzles made sense and were a pleasure to execute upon. Overall, I would highly recommend conundrum museum.

did this room as a pair, even though we knew it would be very challenging. I absolutely loved it! there were multiple puzzles and ideas we had never encountered before in our 20+ rooms, which always impresses me. the set design was great as well, with a good variety of puzzles to cater to different strengths and teamwork. highly recommend!!
many puzzles I have never encountered before in 20+ escape rooms! super interesting and challenging, thematically relevant

We did Storytellers Secret last time we were in town and absolutely loved it— it’s one of our favorites. so decided to do this room this year. This room is fine but it’s no Storytellers secret. Lots of puzzles to work on simultaneously which is good. our game master heard how experienced we are and made the room harder by removing some clues from the room. Unfortunately she removed too many clues for one of the puzzles and we were left stumped. We are not a team that asks for clues so we just stood there all 4 looking at one puzzle for quite some time. Ultimately she slid a clue that she removed under the door and we were able to figure it out. That really took away from an otherwise cool room with nice puzzles. Even still we escaped with ~20 minutes to spare. So that was a bit of a bummer. We hate escaping THAT fast. It’s a let down. Cool room. Fun puzzles. If you are very experienced go with a smaller group (2 would have been better than 4 for us).

cool stuff-- lots of puzzles near the beginning so bring a group, and one puzzle near the end that was a little nonsensical but overall cool and fun.
good-- lots of puzzles at the beginning so bring a group! but one puzzle at the end that was kind of nonsensical

Escape room puzzling at the highest level. The game kicked off in a very memorable way, before an hour full of challenging yet satisfying puzzles. Plenty of puzzle types we’ve never seen before, too! The lighting and artwork made us feel like we were making our way through an actual art gallery, where puzzles slowly started to reveal themselves upon closer inspection. If you have a few escape rooms under your belt and you enjoy puzzle solving, you will be greatly rewarded with this game.

Some of the best puzzles I’ve seen in an escape room setting. The puzzles made us stop and really think in new ways, which resulted in elegant and satisfying solutions. A fair number of types of puzzles we hadn’t encountered before, including one that took a common escape room mechanic and turned it on its head in a unique way. We really admired the hint system. We were notified when a hint was available/suggested, but it was totally up to us whether we accepted the hint or waited a bit longer. I wish more games used this system, telling players that a hint might be useful while leaving the opt-in hints 100% in the hands of the players.
Minimalistic set design made the set pieces, lighting, and props really pop. Really loved the way the game blurs the line between artwork and puzzle. Although there is a lot to do puzzle-wise, take the time to read the artwork descriptions around the gallery for some good laughs.
Tess was one of the best GMs we’ve had who immediately got us excited for the world of the game, suggested a hint at the perfect time, and made sure we had a fun experience.
Yes
Although we’ve encountered art gallery themed games before, this one does it incredibly well.
The intro to the game immediately raised the stakes and quickly introduced the storyline, which was clear and easy to grasp, while also feeling urgent. The final puzzle revisits the story in a particularly fun way.
Expert
I wouldn’t recommend this game for your first-ever escape room, and the website is also upfront about the difficulty. Would definitely recommend if you have a few games under your belt and enjoy puzzling. A game that will likely challenge enthusiasts, too! Despite an “expert” rating here, the puzzles are still completely doable, fair, satisfying, and enjoyable.
Mechanical
Although the game leans a bit more toward lock-based solutions, there is still a fair amount of tech-based puzzles and fun effects.

One player will need to do something other than walking/standing.
Even though it’s an art museum, this game felt very color blind friendly. A puzzle that uses colors also includes symbols to differentiate its colors. One puzzle uses colors without symbols, so I can’t speak to differentiating those colors. Intro was given verbally by GM. Hints were given via text. One player needs to do something more physical than standing/walking. One small space is inaccessible with a chair, but the rest of the space is very open and should be easy to explore if using a chair. Games are on a different floor in the building than the lobby, but large elevators are provided.

A LOT of fun for two people, but we needed some hints as we got closer to the end. This is my favorite type of game - loaded with locks, keys, and buttons. I preferred this over Magician's Study because of the sheer number of puzzles and their variety, but I do think Magician was more thematic. Storyteller remains on my list for now! Non-spoiler favorite puzzle: "Lovers Bridge"
Yes
I would say yes. It's my favorite museum theme so far.
Silly but not particularly logical.
Medium
It's only difficult because of the number of puzzles. The final puzzle was a logical leap for me: there's no reason doing X should've revealed Y... Not sure how many people could get that without a clue (indeed, the GM said almost everyone needs a nudge there).

We had 2, which was an absolute blast, but we knew it was going to be harder with 2. I'd say 3 or 4 are ideal unless you like the challenge and/or ok with nudges.

Not really. The GM plays a small role at the beginning.

With 2, there will be a bit of running and crawling needed to get out in time. With 4, someone will need to crawl, but less running as you can cover more area with 4.
Accesible as long as one person can crawl, but I'd recommend having at least two people who can move around quickly. There are a lot of puzzles scattered about! Color discernment is required for at least one of the puzzles.
