My Grandfather William T Johnson built this cabin with his bare hands on the edge of the mining town many years ago. I have so many fond memories of my Grandpa and his Cabin. But my favorite is this old story of an idol treasure he swore he found in his days at the mine. The problem is, he never told anyone where it was. Now my father, William Johnson the 2nd, always told me that he was just a crazy old man and the idol was a hoax. But I never stopped believing that the idol was indeed real. That’s where you come in. Your team is going to help me find the idol before this storm comes through and washes this old cabin a way for good!

We went in knowing this was this locations easier room... So we did it before their harder room, Wizards Tale as a warm up. It's perfect for beginners and intermediate with no help.

Was worth the hike! Great non-spooky cabin room! Whoever this William has, he has a bunch of clever puzzles with clever inputs and tactile scenery and fun props. Lots of different locks, but each way to open was different, with some higher tech than others. Not too hard for our smaller group of 2. Where there’s a Will, there’s a way out!

One thing didn’t light up so I had to guess one part of a code. The GM eventually noticed it was broken and chimed in, but I had already solved the puzzle.

Our group of five traveled to Houston to do Escape Again’s rooms in one day. While all of them were great, the Hike ranked number three on my list. Customer service from Mike and his team are top notch and I’m excited for all the things they have in store. There were nonlinear elements so different members of our group got to solo puzzles and also work on puzzles as a pair/group. I would say the difficulty level here would be medium. It could be done with two experienced people but they have to work quickly! We got on the leaderboard in third place. The production is not as impressive as the others, but the puzzles make up for it. I think that they could definitely do with a facelift for this room like others have already shared but the puzzles are solid and should be kept as is, or updated while maintaining the framework to be able to increase difficulty or decrease difficulty.

While my brother and I (both experienced escapers) did manage to escape this room, it was HARD. I don’t think the puzzles themselves were overly difficult but there were just a LOT of them and it was very nonlinear, so basically we would have several objects at any given time and would get tripped up on when and where to use them. It made me think of Stash House in Los Angeles where they give you 90 minutes to complete the room simply because there are so many puzzles crammed into one game, and I felt like this game has even MORE puzzles crammed in than Stash House with only the usual 60 minutes given! (And also I played Stash House with 2 other experienced escapers.) So, I think that the sheer number of nonlinear puzzles also started freaking my brother and me out and we were getting sloppy later in the game. Also, the ambient music was loud and made it difficult to hear our GM for hints. But it was a really good and challenging game with great, immersive decor. You should just definitely try tackling this room, just with more than 2 experienced players to get the most out enjoyment out of it.

This was an enjoyable room for our party of 4 - solid quality of puzzles and props. Out of the three rooms Escape Again offers, Hike is probably ranked third on my list. Only critique - there was a puzzle that we did not solve due to an oversight, only to realize that we didn’t need it to escape the room.

Really liked the set design and puzzle mechanics. The set was immersive and the puzzles were fun. This place creates all their set and puzzles and it's obvious they are run by enthusiasts.

Hike was a fantastic game. The room's design incorporates many modular elements, allowing for unique and engaging gameplay. There was an excellent balance in puzzle difficulty, catering to various skill levels and keeping the challenge interesting throughout. The set design was impressive, creating an immersive environment that enhanced the overall experience. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the game, with the last room being a particular highlight! The creators clearly put a lot of thought and effort into crafting this experience, and it definitely paid off.

This company pumps out bangers left and right. All “hearts” from me. Puzzles have sturdy construction and work well flow wise. They were also quite straightforward there were no leaps of faith to solve any of them so the design was good. Difficulty level beginner to medium, their easiest one for sure but still challenging enough. Theme is this company’s strongest suit, they immerse you into whatever it is and you feel like you’re there. Worth a visit and worth doing all three of theirs (as of this date they have three) some of the best in Houston

This is a good room! The set won't blow your mind, but it's pretty good. We did this with 2 experienced players and finished right on time with a few hints. Puzzles are well designed, some fun custom props, definitely not a boxed room. We had a lot of fun!
