All right, scouts! Are you ready for your big adventure in the woods? Don’t mind the rumours about the forest being haunted by spirits, we’re pretty sure it’s all nonsense and poor old Sam will find their way back one day soon. After all, time can pass very quickly in there; morning to noon to evening to night and before you realise, it’s morning again! Stay safe in the woods, scouts – it’s everyone’s responsibility!

We completed this room with 2 people. It was fun to do with 2 people as we could be involved in all the puzzles but would also be fun with 3 or 4 people. The aesthetics of the room was beautiful and there were some very unique puzzles with minimal locks. It was a bit more narrative-based so at times you need to wait for the story to progress before being able to solve more puzzles. The use of lighting in this room was excellent and contributed well to the immersive gameplay. I personally prefer escape rooms with multi rooms and ones that have more puzzles, but it was still very fun nevertheless.

This is a unique room that's worth doing if you are in Sydney. It's more plot driven and narration focused than most escape rooms, which makes it a unique experience. The puzzles were challenging - And a few were extremely clever. Good set design, had a fun experience.

The Forest of Echoes is an escape room unlike any I've had the chance to do before. Honestly, this is far more like stepping into a Dungeons and Dragons Game for a 1-shot campaign with a very skilled game master. Built around one central mechanic inside a large room, this game allows you to explore and play at your own pace. The 90 minute timeframe seems both generous and required, as this game contains a lot of interaction that takes time. That time however, is absolutely not wasted time. This room was jam-packed with some extremely unique puzzles that take advantage of a central game mechanic and an enriching story to tie them all together. Additionally, our game master Chris had an amazing dedication to the work. The game masters are very involved in this game, through play their own skillsets and personal flare really come to light. Next time I'm in Sydney, you better believe I'll be back for the rest of these games! I'd recommend anyone else do the same.

A stand out of Next Level Escape is their game master involvement. The narration throughout the game and explanation of the story line is like no other escape room company we have experienced. The attention to detail in this room and production value was beautiful. Personally I prefer rooms that have multiple rooms and surprises which was the only thing lacking from Forest of Echoes, however I am aware this may just be a personal preference! Sometimes I did find the recordings and narrations to be a little drawn out where I just wanted to get on with the game however I am used to more traditional escape rooms.

All of the games at next level live up to the name; however, this was one of my top 3 favorites along with The Game and The Show Must Go On. You can't go wrong with any of their experiences, but they have something very special happening with the narrative and immersive aspect. I actually played this game solo, but because your GM, while not physically in the room with you, is an actor in the game, I felt like I was there with a cool friend the whole time. This game was inventive and fanciful. If you love a beautiful set, this is the game for you. The puzzles were beautifully integrated, clever, and kept me so busy. I would recommend a team of 2 - 4 for this game.
They are the best!

Another incredible some from Next Level… the atmosphere, puzzle logic and GM were all, dare I say it, next level! Michaelia was such a fun Games Master and a very immersive and at times humorous storyline. A very wholesome story with a good amount of game play and narrative combined.
Such fun gameplay

We were floored by the way Next Level Escape delivered a nonlinear room in ‘Forest of Echoes’. The game experience of choosing your own path with Next Level’s engaging GM interactions took this escape room to a great level. Pixel was a great GM and she took the time to discuss the room and its puzzles afterwards. It was awesome!
A nonlinear room that flowed beautifully — a masterclass in choose-your-own-path escape gaming.
Atmosphere was epic.
GM interaction was 10/10, an industry bar setter for Australia.
