KURIOSUM - Artifact of Darkness

We would fully recommend this room to everyone looking for an escape room with a very immersive story and a real impressive experience. Best room I ever. I was absolutely amazed by this experience and all the details.

This game is high on cinematic-ness and set design, it felt like we were in a movie much more than other rooms. The cold start was very effective and set the tone well; the end sequence was a clever conclusion. Puzzles made sense and were fine, but they also felt mostly there to gate progression rather than being a focus. While there's a lot of interesting things to look at, you can't actually interact with much - it's a clever way to reduce maintenance, but it also contributed to the game feeling pretty "on rails" to me in a way that I didn't love. The story and general atmosphere were also not something that resonated with me, but I could see others appreciating.

The experience was awesome. The space was small but full of details, atmosphere and character. The puzzles are on the lighter side but well made. I fully recommend this game, it is worth travelling for.

The best escape room we’ve ever experienced. This was immersion to the max. The thing that really made it stand out was the way the set was done so that you felt that no-one else had been there before. It felt undisturbed in decades. The level of thought, detail and tech behind the scenes in this game was incredible.

Curiousness: The Artifact of Darkness / Kuriosum: Artefakt der Finsternis by Escape Room Witten was the second room of our 9 room escape tour in Germany. We were the same group of 3 and had an absolute blast. The intro was playful and entertaining, setting a great tone right from the start. Once inside, the environment immediately stood out, absolutely stunning in terms of set design, props, lighting, and sound. It truly felt like stepping into another world, masterfully built to keep you immersed from beginning to end. While the puzzles weren’t the star of the show, they served the narrative well and kept the story flowing naturally. The experience carries a light spooky vibe, but nothing too intense, even those who usually avoid any type of scariness will find it manageable. Can’t recommend this experience enough. It left such a strong impression I even bought the tshirt to remember it by. Really looking forward to their next adventure.

Fantastic room - everything fits, beginning with the great immersive intro, the stunning decoration, lights, sounds and even smells. Amazing story telling and lots of easter eggs for lovers of escape rooms. As they tell you on their website: you’ll get dirty so choose your clothes accordingly. Also prepare for a bit crawling and some dark corners… not horror but definitely spooky at times.

This is a true labour of love. My friend played this as her 100th room and I organised a special for it, not knowing what they ended up doing with the package. It was magical, immensely immersive and the staging was amazing! The atmosphere was graspable, the voices, sound, production. Everything screamed „this has to work - or we will go down with it“ and IT WORKED. The owner was our gamemaster and we had a long talk with him after the game and it was truly amazing. They constantly work on their adventure and we all fell in love with him - enthusiastic people just make us love them even more when they talk nerdsy about their adventure. We will come back - and yes, that is a threat.
