‘Escape It’ offers an interesting array of puzzles within their experience. The game doesn’t feature a narrative, but this frees ‘Escape It’ to deliver a thematically diverse collection of rooms. Players will be surprised each time they open a door and discover the next theme. After playing close to 100 rooms this year, this unique element of being completely surprised when entering the rooms felt fresh and different. While one or two puzzles felt slightly unclear to our team in how to approach their solve, the designer assured me those puzzles shine in the capable hands of the kids that play ‘Escape It’. Majority of the puzzles are definitely signposted, however, and minimal outside knowledge is needed to complete the game. We enjoyed the experience and it was our favourite activity in Victor Harbour!
