The atmosphere and theme were awesome and I really enjoyed most of the puzzles in this room! There were one or two puzzles that I hadn’t seen in any other room I’ve played, and I really enjoyed them. It was mostly mechanical, but there were a few high tech puzzles that were fun and interesting.
The only downside of the room was that every mechanical lock is a 4-digit code, so there is no variety in locks. Again, the puzzles themselves were really good, but the massive amounts of the same lock can disrupt the flow of the room. We would get a code and then have to try 10+ of the exact same lock, sometimes missing one or two because there were so many available to us. However, I certainly wouldn’t let that discourage you from playing this game, it was definitely worth it, and we plan to go back to play their others.
One of the owners was at the front desk and he was very nice and welcoming. All the staff we interacted with seemed kind and friendly too.
Our Game Master, who we didn’t interact with before or after our game (aside from a picture), gave us A LOT of hints. We didn’t ask for any hints, but we were getting them every 5 minutes or so. We totally understand getting nudges or a little help when we need it, and we’re all for that, but we were getting a lot of hints that were really more answers than anything else. We felt sort of pushed at times, especially because we escaped with 10 minutes left. We felt we could’ve spent a little more time on certain puzzles without the GM telling us what to do. However, we could’ve asked for them to only give us hints if we were falling behind.
Overall it’s a really fun room with a great atmosphere and nice people. I would suggest stopping by and giving it a try. Plus, who doesn’t love pirates?
Back and forth between liked and disliked, but I’ve got to give them a thumbs up. We really enjoyed several of the puzzles, but there wasn’t a good flow to this room. There are 10+ mechanical 4 digit locks that you have access to from very early on. Everything is a 4 digit number code, so you’ll find yourself trying codes on almost every lock which can get tiring.
It’s a very fun room, that is dragged down by the lack of variety of locks. Although, this is my only big complaint, everything else was great.
We really enjoyed the set design for this room! It was definitely well done and nailed the pirate ship vibe. There were also some fun special effects in this one!
The staff was nice and welcoming
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
We haven’t done a pirate room before, and there was one type of puzzle that we hadn’t seen before which was really cool!
Pirates. Need I say more? The story wasn’t particularly amazing, but pirates are always fun and we weren’t expecting a rich story with this one.
There were a few high-tech puzzles, but there were 10+ 4 digit locks that all looked the exact same.
I would say not scary, but there story is about a ghost pirate and you might see some skeletons, so I consider it spooky
The final puzzle wasn’t working properly, but it was inconsequential. I believe they got it working right after we got out

Accessibility
There are some stairs in the room
Limited parking, we parked out front in one of 3 or 4 available spots. They could easily be full at a busy time
