Permanently Closed - In an abandoned shack out in the middle of the desert, there is something important: answers to cold cases and missing persons reports across Southern California. You and your fellow investigators must deduce the identities of those who lie here with the help of Gabriel De Marte. The dead are not quiet, but only some can listen to them. And they won't keep talking for much longer.

Our Medium Gabriel was the BEST!! Definitely a great room… Very well thought out and put together. If you like having live actors this is a must do!!

The use of theatrics to immerse players in this experience was executed very well. Puzzles were not super hard but some of the things that we needed to do added to the excitement and fun. Gabriel was a great help in our investigation and I would recommend you check this room out before it’s gone. You will interact the whole time with the live actor in an entertaining way. Immersion was on point. Just go do it!

Absolutely loved everything about this room. The actor was phenomenal and made the experience top notch. The owner was also incredible. We will definitely be back to experience their other rooms.

An immersive theater escape room and these guys REALLY out did themselves. The whole flow and storyline was superb and dare I say, on par with the last supper and hope end. This is a limited time event so run don’t walk to do this one.

My family and I experienced two rooms in one evening, The Shack and The Amazing Argo. Both were solid, engaging and fun albeit different escape adventures. I’ll begin by stating that we have been to many escape rooms and it is always a pleasure to encounter owners and GMs that are enthusiastic about their work. The Experience Machine provided both with owner, Andres, performer Raphael, and GM Hannah. All of them contributed to an exceptional time for my family and I. Top recommendation forThe Shack. This experience it truly unique because it provides the perfect blend of escape room components and immersive theater. It truly provides the ambiance, storyline and performance (a live actor assumes the role as an investigator) that immerses participants into the role of assistant investigators. So as not to give too much away, I will say that it was a creepy, engaging and intriguing room. Raphael, the live actor, playing Gabriel carries this experience as it is up to him to guide us to clues and information while maintaining solid immersion in the story. This is no easy task, but Raphael was excellent and his performance was top notch and on par with what one would expect from a regarded theatrical production. So to bring this element to an escape scenario with puzzles, clues etc elevates the experience to a new level of immersion giving guests the gift of deciding to keep it closer to a puzzle escape room or delving deeper bringing their own creativity to the experience. This is what makes The Shack stand out as one of our favorite escape rooms to date. My teenage daughters had such enthusiasm for this room leaving me with the thought that the creators are on to something special here and in hopes that there will be more to come.I would say that The Shack should be a priority for those who are up for a bit of a change.
