The town of Crystal Cove and the surrounding areas are being terrorized by monsters and ghosts. The local Baroness Maria Richman has gone missing and it is suspected that the ghost sightings have something to do with it! Tasked with solving the crime, you arrive at the same conclusion as Mystery Incorporated. Unfortunately when you get to the Spooky Castle, Mystery Incorporated get locked out, at the same time as you get locked in! You soon realize that Mystery Incorporated are able to help by communicating clues via magic portraits inside the Castle. Discovering a secret Dungeon and Monster Lab in the Castle, you realize this is where the evil is being created and set about solving the crime. You come to the conclusion that the person responsible almost certainly works in the Castle - but who could it be as there are several suspects?

Scooby-Doo as a brand lends itself perfectly to escape rooms; whether it’s a haunted mansion or spooky boardwalk, the gang is always solving a mystery and escaping. This room has you working alongside the gang rather than taking their place. Though the room was littered with screens, no puzzles were solved through iPads or tablets - all puzzles were tactile. Though the room was pretty linear, both in build and puzzle design, it’s definitely a good room for kids and intermediate players.

Being Scooby-Doo I thought it’d be really easy, but it was a challenge. We didn’t escape unfortunately, but it was still a blast!!

The escape room overall is very nice and clean. Scooby Doo theming was a lot of fun! It wasn’t as easy as I thought it might be which was cool. We didn’t need any clues and finished in 35 minutes. W
I enjoyed it! Game flowed well and fit the Scooby Doo theme well.
Looked really good! Props were fun.

It was fun doing a licensed game.

Even though it’s marketed towards kids, it had it challenges. A very new player may find it difficult.

Areas in 2nd and 3rd rooms were small so accessibility would be a bit challenging.

First time trying Escapology and the set design and theming were definitely there. Don’t let the Scooby Doo theme throw you off by thinking it’ll be easy! It was a challenge for a group of two. The puzzles were fun but really made us think. We didn’t ask for hints but our GM kept giving us nudges in the right direction because we were constantly close to figuring things out. Excited to come back and try their other rooms!

Puzzles were thematic to Scooby Doo. Puzzles were ok. Similar to other rooms, we flew through all the puzzles up until the final few that fell out of line with the puzzles before. Wasn't test runned enough to ensure puzzles weren't broken. It could have possibly been more enjoyable.
