From the moment we arrived, the experience started on a high. The lady who welcomed us was warm, chatty, and genuinely enthusiastic. She explained the different games clearly, offered helpful advice on which rooms might suit us best, and set the tone for a fun visit. The Asylum feels like the quintessential escape room — the kind you picture when someone says “classic escape experience.” It blends familiar escape‑room tropes with a few clever surprises, making it a solid choice for both newcomers and seasoned players. 👍 What We Liked • Clever hidden puzzles — Several reveals were genuinely satisfying, with that “aha” moment you want from a good escape room. • Multiple rooms — Progressing through different spaces kept the experience dynamic and gave a real sense of momentum. • Mix of old‑school and modern puzzles — A nice balance between traditional padlocks and more inventive mechanisms. 👎 What Could Be Better • A bit grubby — While the theme is meant to be gritty, some areas felt more worn than atmospheric. A little freshening up would elevate the whole experience. 🎯 Overall A classic, enjoyable escape room with smart puzzle design and a friendly, welcoming host. With a bit of tidying, it could easily go from good to great.

Creepy room and expansive - really nice moments and puzzles involving all your senses. Teamwork also required for some aspects.

Enjoyed this room. Clever puzzles which were well themed. Was spooky but not scary (coming from someone easily scared). GM was so friendly and made some great recommendations of other rooms.

Fun and challenging room with a nice mix of puzzles

Kept seeing Rhondda escape rooms advertised around Cardiff. We decided to visit and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a family run business and they were so lovely!! Really enjoyed this room - some good puzzles to solve! Definitely worth a visit.
