Insane Asylum

Gotta be honest with this one. I wanted to like Insane Asylum. The concept is there, the setup is fine, but something just didn't click for me. We did end up escaping, but only after asking for some hints because a few things just didn't make sense. Might work for other people, but I left feeling kinda meh about the whole thing. This is where it gets tricky. The puzzles were hard, but not in a satisfying way. It wasn't the kind of hard where you figure it out and feel like a genius. It was more the kind of hard where you're just not sure what the game wants from you. You have to think outside the box and pay attention to small details, which is fine normally, but here it felt a little forced at times. We ended up needing hints on a couple things. Not because we didn't try, but because the logic on some puzzles just wasn't clicking. Like we'd solve something, or think we solved it, and nothing would happen. Turns out we were on the right track but missed some tiny detail that felt impossible to notice. A few times I found myself saying "how were we supposed to know that?" That's never a good sign. There was one puzzle in particular that was just finicky. Honestly felt like maybe it just didn't work great. That kind of thing kills the momentum fast. I hope they take a look at that one and either change it or fix it because it really dragged down the experience. If you've done a ton of rooms and want to try everything once, sure, give it a shot. But if you're looking for a solid night out or want to introduce someone to escape rooms, probably pick something else. This one missed the mark for me. Not every room hits. This one didn't.

Good, challenging puzzles and mechanisms, requires teamwork for some. One jump scare that was startling but fun and very cleverly set up.

🌀 Just escaped (barely!) from The Insane Asylum at PaniQ Room, and it was AMAZING! 🤯 The puzzles were intense, the atmosphere was chilling, and we had so much fun putting our wits to the test! 🧩🕵️‍♀️ Shoutout to our incredible gamemaster Jessica—she was the BEST! 🙌 Her guidance and energy made the experience even more unforgettable. Highly recommend this room for anyone looking for a thrilling escape! 💡🔐

As a 2-player experience we really enjoyed this one. Lots of unique and challenging puzzles, some types we’d never encountered before anywhere else. Definitely challenging but because hints were given out regularly without prompting from us we actually found this one to be easier than Wizard Trials.

Worst escape room I have ever done

Please don’t waste your time with this one. Not a fan. No direction on what to do next and the puzzles were very repetitive and not engaging whatsoever. Way too many red herrings and just overall not a good experience to justify the hefty price tag. There was not a single lock code if you’re into that as well. Please go somewhere else. Not sure how it has the ratings it does.

I can't tell if I really liked this room or not. There were a couple of neat and fun puzzles, and a few that felt very flat and uninteresting. The theme is fairly consistent throughout, but not completely immersive or thorough. There was a little bit of challenge in some of the puzzles. Pretty mediocre room overall.
