Nightfall: Creature At Camp Deadwood

This was a great game but our least favorite of the three at this location. The front half of this game is excellent but we felt like the back half was not on par with the first half. Overall, still definitely worth playing. An Escape Ventures game is still better than nearly anyone else's.

Our team of 3 agreed this was our 3rd favorite room at this location, but it's still one of the best in Florida and a top tier room overall. Definitely a unique experience and the acting brings it to life in a very exciting way. I think the puzzles in this room were the least challenging, although one puzzle stands out as a notable exception, requiring a good bit of lateral thought. Definitely worth doing

Nightfall is a solid escape room and a fun experience overall. The atmosphere is spooky without being truly scary, which makes it approachable while still setting a great tone. The actor involvement and atmosphere make a key difference in this room and really help elevate the experience and immersion. The puzzles flow and keep you engaged throughout. Our only real complaint was that the ending felt a bit anticlimactic compared to the rest of the room, but it didn’t take away from the overall enjoyment. TEV room ranking so far: 1.) Like all of the best The Escape Ventures games, it is an all around fun game with decent puzzles, amazing set design, and of course really fun interactions with the game master. But this one in particular kind of got lost in my memories among the other amazing games we played at Port Charlotte (and Evasive Escapes Sarasota the same day), but thinking about it this game is absolutely amazing and definitely needs to be played as much as the other games at this location. I was a little mixed on our game master’s performance as your guide character at the beginning, but later he really came into his own as one of the best acted characters in a TEV game. It’s overall just a very good, pretty light-horror game with an outstanding finale scene. Play it, then play all the other games at this location. TEV Ranking: 1. Orlando: Cornstalkers 2. Room and game master were both amazing, great experience overall.

The GM was such a trooper! Loved the set design and camp fire smell. We felt totally immersed and had a lot of fun. We did ask to tone down the scary so we appreciated that haha

This was my first room where multiple scents played a strong role in creating a rich narrative environment. Our GM Jake did a great job bringing the story to life, his performance was unhinged to say the least. We played with 4, but I’d recommend a group of no more than 3 for this room, it’s not a physically large space. My only complaint is that the “creature” wasn’t as physically present as I would have hoped.
