You and your team of CIA operatives are stationed at a safehouse in Seychelles, Africa. For years, intelligence agencies have been trying to identify a shadowy figure known only as Maître D’échecs, or “The Chess Master”, who is rumored to be a shady arms dealer posing as an importer/exporter. It is believed that there is a thumb drive hidden in his office containing the identities and locations of several high-ranking terrorists. The corrupt SWAT team are on the way to seize this thumb drive. Can you find it before they arrive?

Four of us played Operation: Gambit at Quandry Escape Room in Wallingford, CT, with Manny as our game host. He was friendly, helpful when needed, and let us work through the puzzles without over-cluing us. We didn’t need many clues for this room, which made the experience even more satisfying. Thos one look us a little longer than Son of Zodiac to complete. Gambit had some creative puzzles that I hadn’t come across before. Nothing was especially challenging for our group, but there were still some fun and different elements that kept things interesting. One thing I particularly liked was the ending. Without giving anything away, I thought the exit was really cool and made for a fun way to finish the experience. I definitely preferred the ending of Gambit compared with Son of Zodiac. We’ve now played at all three of this company's(different names) locations throughout Connecticut, and I’ve enjoyed every room we’ve done. I like that each location and room has its own style, so the experiences don’t feel repetitive. If you enjoy escape rooms, Quandry is definitely worth checking out!

It was hard to find the location. They need better signage and directions. I had to call them to find it.

This was a lot of fun! I enjoyed being a spy for an hour. I went with two friends who aren’t really escape room people, but we all had fun!

  • The room had a good mixture of tech, decoders, and unique locks to open. Definitely go play this one
