We love Unlock History and always enjoy their rooms. This was no different. Loved the flow of clues it gave us a challenge without getting confusing. Check out Unlock History if you haven’t. They are amazing.

We really enjoyed the flow of clues and story. Some of the clues were really clever.

As already stated, cool decor but we didn’t like the puzzles with guess and check of where things go. We didn’t like the constant coming in - again low energy due to costume for Halloween or character who knows. I think one time check at 15 min . I was guessing then bam 57 and change to get out. We like history so picked this one but for the price of $100 since we had 2 people I am not sure we would do another 2 person only. And again, the request to tip (cash or electronic) with a sign, text and email is enough to turn me away from a company.

Having visited Monticello that day it was great but still lots of confusing parts

We felt either the room didn’t flow or we were tired because the game master kept coming back in to give us a nudge. It was actually frustrating to not know the time and to have multiple rooms to keep going back and forth.

The room was very fun but some of the locks were very worn out and required game master assistance (with the correct code). I enjoy the non-gory theme and thoughtfulness of puzzles Group size: 2

Thank you again PuzzleQueen. Thanks for your valuable feedback. We try to keep an eye on replacing worn locks, but after reading your review, I personally inspected the locks myself and changed a few out with brand new ones. We're glad you had a great time!

We had fun with this room but it was really hard with two people!!!! We needed a few extra minutes to get it done but Laura our gamemaster was amazing and gave great hints when we needed it!!!!

The British are Coming is probably are easiest room, but we certainly wouldn't call it "Easy" especially for a group of two. But we're glad we kept you both busy the entire time.

Really dug this room on our vacation in VA. I love history and I love escape rooms. So this was dope. The GM was a fabulous person! I do wish the place had maybe an old phone that Jefferson had because he was so cool for the GM to give hints on. Or maybe an old electronic scroll in the room. Instead of having to come in. Our GM Christy was super cool so it was okay she came in - just less immersive. Anyway, I recommend the room!

Thanks for the great feedback. For some of our escape rooms that are set before electricity (or phones for that matter), we felt it would take the immersion out to put a phone or TV in the room. So that's why your 1781-themed escape room has a host that comes in to deliver clues. But we are so happy you all had a great time.

More to the game than meets the eye. One puzzle really stood out to me as something I hadn’t seen before. Although, the game master has to come into the room to provide hints and will occasionally come in the room unprompted.

We've done about 500 rooms and this one was fairly early on. It was a solid room even if a little easy. I appreciate this fun historic room in an historic town.

This room was ok. Had a couple puzzles we hadn’t seen before. Had a couple things we did before we were supposed to because we figured them out. Only way for the game master to give a clue is to enter the room. It’s rated as a beginner room. I would not recommend as your first escape room experience.

Thanks for the feedback Jenny. Since you have done the room, we have made multiple updates to the room to help the gameflow and ensure groups can't leap ahead. This was also our first escape room we built and I think we're making design improvements with each new escape room we build.
