Heretics [prev. Bloody Elbow]

Not very long, but it is very dark and searching in the dark is our weakness. So it took us long. Plus it’s a little creepy, though in retrospect, it wasn’t that scary a room. Be warned that there is gore and overall grossness. There is a real dangerous tool in there that in the wrong hands, could hurt someone so be really careful and don’t bring kids. Those puzzles that utilized real-world props were the biggest standouts that brought life to this torture chamber. But an incorrectly reset key and the GM’s confusion on why we couldn’t find the incorrectly placed key in the dark was actual torture…

A good setup with intriguing gameplay. This game is a good stepping stone to doing Cannibal - both in terms of ambience and thinking process. It's a scary setting but I wouldn't say the scare factor escalates much. There was a section where you make a "proper" use of a prop - that was really cool! Normally, you wouldn't do something like that in an escape room (you will know what I mean). Most of the puzzles aren't "difficult" - you just need to think practically and be observant. Although we escaped, overall experience could have been better if the communication with our gamemaster was better (wasted time on a puzzle + almost went off script with the process). Also, while the darkness added to the ambience, for some sections, it felt a tad too dark. I'd still recommend this room though as you will likely want to experience all the escape rooms in this location.

This was a fun but easy room. We almost didn’t come back here because we did not have a good experience with a previous room we did here. The employees are all really nice. This room was nicely designed and was a bit spooky but not too bad. I’m a jumper and I didn’t jump at all. We are going to come back and try their hard room Cannibal’s Den next week.

Overall gameplay was good. A good mix of traditional and non traditional locks and puzzles. Game master was great.
