Beautiful design, very intricate. Loved the story plot, it was challenging and hard! The set was really cool and everything from the texture to the temperature was perfect. It was a little spooky but not to spooky. It was wonderful!

Easily top 5 games I’ve done. Challenging room, but extremely fun throughout the whole story. The game master was top class. Puzzles were unique. I would do this game in a heartbeat.

This is now one of my favorite rooms! In my top 10, likely top 5 as of writing. It's so well-put together. It's rare that the puzzles, storyline, theme, effects and set just tie altogether throughout the entire experience. We're about 70 rooms in, and there were numerous puzzles we hadn't seen before. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the details of this game design. Definitely really immersive and enjoyable. I can see why this room is on the difficult side. The puzzles are not necessarily straight-forward (but they were so, so, so appreciated because they're not just simple!). There were so many clever and fun puzzles, and they all helped advance the plot nicely. We did this as a group of 4 and escaped with slightly under 6 minutes remaining. We had 2 beginners and 2 experienced players. Our experience definitely helped us recognize the intentions of certain clues and puzzles a lot quicker. Otherwise, this would be a tough room for a newer group of players. There is definitely a decent amount of things to do, so definitely use your group's size to your advantage. When the room ended, I already knew it was one of my new favorites. It was very satisfying and I really didn't have any complaints. A couple special effects were just so unexpected but fitting and these specific details just really enhanced the experience. I love new and clever puzzles and mechanisms and this room nailed it all. This room did have a good amount of locks/combo locks, and that can age or detract from a room, but there was also a good mix of tech, and honestly the puzzles were so fun that I didn't mind the combo locks at all. Emanual is a passionate and enthusiastic GM and we appreciated his energy. I wish there were other rooms of this caliber here, and elsewhere. This is a highly recommended room!

Gameplay

Great fun, clever puzzles, all tied into the storyline. Plot progressed ever so nicely

Atmosphere

Very fitting set, with some well appreciated effects. Very immersive.

Customer service

Emanuel is top-notch!

MUST-DO type of recommendation for escape room enthusiasts! And highly recommend to all others, as long as they're not completely new players

Top 3 we've ever experienced, for sure.

Mechanical

It was a mix. A lot of locks and combo locks, but also incorporates a solid amount of tech. You won't mind the locks anyways because the puzzles are fun.

Ideal number of players

4

There is a good amount of things to do. 4 is the supposed minimum, and I think that's a great group size. I would recommend maybe 6 if it's not as experienced a group

Scary

Not scary

A few dark moments and overall it's not a bright room, but that is all fitting with the storyline. But nothing intentionally scary. The atmosphere is a murder mystery, but as a non-horror person, this is not scary at all. Just a sense of mystery in a bit of dim lighting

Ink and Ashes is a very fun who-dun-it escape room! There were a few elements that definitely set it apart from other escape rooms! The only downside is the narrative itself. I like the idea of the story unfolding as you go, but it does disrupt the flow of the gameplay. I still found the room very enjoyable and would definitely recommend it!

Gameplay

The gameplay was definitely fun. I think that the narrative element does disrupt the flow of the game/your own momentum but we still had a great time!

Atmosphere

The set design was great, the entire thing felt like a home. It was one of the best set designs I’ve seen in an escape room.

Customer service

The GM was great! I unfortunately can’t remember his name (possibly Andrew). He was super friendly and welcoming, very helpful with the hints when we needed them, and did a great little set-up of the narrative before we started!

Just finished Ink & Ashes at Exodus Escape Rooms and had such a fun time! It was definitely difficult, but that made it even more rewarding. The room was engaging, immersive, and full of fun challenges. Our game master Emanuel was great and really helped make the experience even better. We had a great experience and would definitely recommend it!

Ink & Ashes is a fantastic escape room that introduces a very novel structure of solving puzzles to solve a murder mystery, almost like a game of Clue. The puzzles are challenging, and our experienced group finished with just a minute and a half left. Our game master Emmanuel was fantastic and respected our wish to not be hinted unless we asked for it. I really respected how courteous the staff at this location were and the high quality of the game they’ve built. I’d highly recommend it! This game is non-linear so make sure you divide and conquer in order to finish everything in front of you. Having good attention to detail is very important when playing this game.

Incredibly fun room solving a murder mystery. Loved the story details throughout solving all the puzzles. I'd say lean closer to 4 people as there's lota of puzzles and some that may be harder to do with 2-3 people. Room was perfect for bouncing between splitting up and coming together for puzzles.
