Did this room with my 9 year old and we both really enjoyed it. Game master was super fun as well and kept us pointed in the right direction at a few crucial points.

Jewel of the Sea is a fun pirate game for 2-3 people max. We had four people in our group and blew past the puzzles too quickly that we were left wanting more. Our GM was incredibly enthusiastic and helped set a fun atmosphere. One puzzle in particular ranked above the rest for us and I’d love to try it again.

Good: Set was great and the talking parrot was very fun! Bad: there weren’t that many puzzles and the room is fairly linear. A couple puzzles rely on spotting hidden things so it’s easy to get stuck with nothing else to do. There were a handful of red herrings. I guess just in general the puzzle design felt kinda meh. The room also felt kind of short. You can definitely tell this room is dated and I’m surprised it won Best of Morty 2024 over Tipsy Tailor, which I really really enjoyed.

Overall a great room with nice visuals, somewhat unique puzzles, and a nice backstory. Since it’s not super linear it’s good for a small group, as pairs can work on different things concurrently.
Gameplay
This room is mostly non-linear, and initial puzzles can be resolved in almost any order. Because of this set up, there isn’t so much of a flow although it did progress nicely.

Wowee, a fun room, super logical and flowed well. The GM/live actor was whitty and had quick replies to us being dweebs. Ending was a bit anticlimactic but overall super enjoyable room!

Amazing visuals and immersion. The mechanics were very well designed and the room was really immersive. However, the GM was the issue. DONT GIVE CLUES UNLESS ASKED FOR. He ruined the enjoyment by giving us clues without us asking. We ended with 24 minutes left because he took the challenge away. I felt robbed of the fun. This could be a great escape room, but the GM killed it for me.
