We recently visited Pandora Experience at Alam Sutera to take on the "Amityville: The Awakening" escape room. We played as a group of five, and it was a genuinely spooky and well-executed experience.
The Experience:
The immersion starts immediately with a briefing video that sets the dark tone: a story about a family tragically killed by the father within the house. Our mission was to locate three crosses and nine playing cards to cleanse the evil spirit and escape.
Gameplay & Atmosphere:
The room design is fantastic, with a perfect balance of challenging puzzles and jump-scare-worthy atmosphere.
The Puzzles: The puzzles are clever and require a keen eye. We had to decipher book titles to find a combination code, match names on creepy hanging mannequins to unlock doors, and solve card-based riddles.
The Scares: The atmosphere is truly unsettling. From the sudden, loud banging on the doors that caught us off guard, to the room filled with hanging mannequins and a painting of a girl with glowing red eyes, the tension stays high throughout. One of the highlights was a sequence where the pictures appear to move toward you—it was incredibly effective.
The Climax:
The final room ties the story together perfectly. We had to place the three crosses into a small coffin mounted on the wall and recite a mantra to "cleanse" the spirit. Successfully escaping after that final push felt very rewarding.
Final Thoughts:
If you enjoy high-intensity horror and immersive storytelling, this is a must-play. The ambiance is spot-on, and the transition between rooms—including some fun physical elements like crawling—kept us engaged from start to finish. Highly recommended for groups looking for a good scare!
