Scooby, Shaggy, and the gang need your mystery-solving help…or else! The town of Crystal Cove and surrounding areas are being terrorized by monsters and ghosts, and now the local Baroness Maria Richman has gone missing and it is suspected that the ghost sightings have something to do with it! Tasked with solving the crime, you arrive at the same conclusion as Mystery Incorporated. But when you get to the Spooky Castle, Mystery Inc. gets locked out, at the same time you get locked in! You soon realize that they’re able to help by communicating clues via magic portraits inside the Castle. After discovering a secret dungeon and monster lab in the castle, you come to the conclusion that the person responsible almost certainly works in the castle - but who could it be as there are several suspects??

Linear game. We played with 3 but honestly could be done with 2. Any more and you’d have people standing around. Relatively simple puzzles and flow. We got stuck on one puzzle, not because it was hard. The only way I can describe it is answering a multiple choice question where all the choices are right but one is a little more right, which was frustrating.

We did this as a group of 2, which I think is the right amount. The puzzles are all linear so if you had more people, they would just be standing around. The rooms themselves were pretty small too. Puzzles were pretty standard and logical, not too surprising for an experienced person. The appeal of this game is probably for the set design and nostalgia of the show.

Gameplay

It’s a linear game

Was anything broken?

Yes

Previous group broke a prop, so it’s not the escape room’s fault. They handled it well and offered us a refreshment. There was one key that was unlocked, but we still treated it as if it were locked, so it did not detract from the experience too much.

Amazing escape room! The puzzles suited the overall storyline & theme very well, and the puzzles flowed very smoothly. The atmosphere was super fun & had lots of cool props & unique puzzles. We only had one malfunction (item getting stuck & not dispensing) but staff was quick to assist & return any time lost. The starting room felt a bit too crowded at first, but other than that it was an amazing experience for our group!
