Irvine School of Wizardry and the Goblin's Secrets

BIG BIG WOW! Stop reading and just play it lol! I’m not even a big Harry Potter fan and still absolutely loved it. How could you not?! The decor is top of the top. Game play smooth. Wow moments in every room I kid you not. One wow moment in particular that no other company rn is even coming close to touching. We talked with Cody our GM after for like 15 min lol just nerding out on the set design. Instantly a top 3 game for us! The second track in this room that’s close to being done has got me super excited to come back for it.

We’ve done close to 100 escape rooms around the world, and this one definitely lands in our top 3. The room was incredible, especially if you’re into Harry Potter vibes, but with its own original twist that made it feel unique. Our game master, Cody, was awesome and really made the whole experience even better. He even took some time after the game to talk with us about how parts of the room were built, which was super cool.

This game had a lot of tricks and mirages that we enjoyed. Overthinking the clues to think it to be more clever than what they actually are will definitely make it twice as hard. Nevertheless, the props and the rooms were magical in their own way and I'm very grateful to the GM for giving us a few extra minutes to complete the room!

Fantastic room with a great theme. Puzzles not too difficult with moderate creativity. I will say that too many people in this room will detract from the overall experience of enjoying the decor and puzzles. Optimum is probably 3, maybe 4 although very doable as 2. Excited to see what room they currently have in development.

Great room! I had previously done the dragon wand and I liked it a lot, but goblin secrets has much higher production value. The technology, puzzles, and decor were all top tier. Overall a very fun room!

This room transports and immerses you in such a fun room with cool transitions, magic, and thoughtful design. We loved the room and it was super fun! Got the extra puzzle too. Great exp!!

A pretty well-built room with a great atmosphere and immersive theme. The room/puzzles are pretty linear, but nothing felt frustrating to the point where you felt unreasonably stuck. We did need some hints, but to be honest it was our fault that we failed to progress, rather than something inherent to the puzzles. I'm not sure what the future design of this room will look like, because it looks like this room could be doubling up as a house for a 2nd room, or perhaps they're expanding this room to have 2 parts. Either way, this was a great room overall and looking forward to what they will build inside of it.

This was AWESOME! Great theming, great game flow, great game master!! Worthwhile and a must play!

Another strong game from Hidden Donkey. Wonderful sets, sounds, lights, and production. Decent storyline and goals. Somewhat linear narrative flow. It was also somewhat strange that a future game in the same space was in development so some clues and objects in the space were not part of the game we were playing. They were clearly labelled as "part of the other game", but it's odd to have them potentially distracting from the game at hand.

I finally see why people rave about this room. I only had time to do one of the Hidden Donkey rooms and all my friend who had played said it had to be Goblin’s Secret. It lived up to the hype. The immersion is so real in this room and the last part of the experience was spectacular. I do wish they would have let us take photos with our wands in the first room. It is interesting how they’re building two tracks for two different games in one room. We did have to ask for a few hints.
