I’m not sure how I feel about the Wolf Escape online games. I have played all three of them. If I compare them to an in-person escape room they are a great deal (20 bucks for 60 to 90 minutes). If I compare them to a computer adventure game they are a terrible deal (a $60 game will have many more puzzles and take a lot longer to finish). But I do enjoy the Wolf Escape games and will keep playing them as they come out, so that’s a thumbs up for Morty purposes. I would put Phantom’s Hour in between the two previous offerings. We liked it more than Hallows Hill and less than Miami Bay. The graphics are excellent. I still think their “backpack” system for letting everyone look at props on an individual device is brilliant. The voice acting is fine (nothing special, but nothing bad). The puzzles are pretty good overall if a bit on the easy side, but with some good variety. There are maybe a dozen puzzles total. The hint system is the same as in the other games; you can get anything from a nudge to a spoiler and it just adds to your time taken. I thought the story was reasonably interesting and it did feel like the sort of case that Sherlock Holmes would take on. Overall, we enjoyed it.

What a lovely great additional game that wolf games has created. Very immersive storytelling with some great voice over work. Really fun puzzles. Although some logic seemed very confusing and challenging it was a still great story.

Another win from Wolf Escape Games! The escape game features a set of virtual puzzles, all of which are controlled via point and click with your mouse. The puzzles are elementary, and we felt as smart as Sherlock solving them. The story unfolds with a full mystery that requires deduction and careful thinking to solve. The game isn’t super long, probably took our group of 2 around an hour and a half. But it’s a good length for a game like this, particularly since it can only be completed once per purchase. I recommend the other games from this company, though I found Miami Bay to be long for one sitting. Sherlock Holmes - Phantom’s Hour is much more digestible and also fun for a night at Holmes!
