Immaculate vibes, and a really strong story. There were some strong puzzles, but I would have liked a touch more places to try and figure things out. At times, felt more like a guided experience than an escape room.

One of the best escape room companies I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Can't recommend enough. We did all three of their rooms on the same day (two locations) and I was blown away by the quality. Incredible!
Super fun and creative. Immersive and fun.
Some of the best atmosphere I've ever experienced.
Staff was top notch. We emailed in advance asking if they had an English verision. Communicating via email was easy. And our GM was friendly. No problem communicating even though we don't speak Japanese.
Yes
Medium difficulty, but 10/10 on creativity and flow to the room.
Amazing story and writing and whoever did the English version is FLUENT in english.

I wouldn't do more than 3 people and two is optimal.
Spooky
It's about a seance so there are spooky elements but nothing scary.

I don't have kids so... If your kids can handle ghosts and a murder mystery, they will be fine.

Perfectly maintained.

I didn't see an elevator in the building and the game is on the 2nd (or 3rd?) floor.

Japan addresses can be tricky. Sometimes there is no english on the buildings. Give yourself some extra time.
Limited
There is no parking in Osaka. (A small exaggeration but still...)

An impressive room, great use of tech and puzzles were fun. More background music needed and volumes of story plot along the way were very low. Not very scary which I was expecting it to be a little at least.

Added this one kind of last minute after enjoying two others from the same company, and I’m so glad! It’s one of the most interesting rooms we have ever done! Don’t know why fewer people have logged it—definitely worth your time!

Edd gave us so many behind the scene details to how it was designed and made!

A solid room, but IMO the weakest of the Studio Escape rooms but that might just be because I don't particularly care for the theme. The spirit medium theme does not lend itself to cool set pieces like the other rooms do. The production quality and the puzzles continue to be top tier.

Agatha Christie eat your heart out cause this Whodunit has LITTLE PUZZLES. The final room to cap off my Studio Escape journey and yet another banger. A theme I’ve seen a few times now but one that is generally more miss than hit. This murder mystery is thankfully a huuuuge hit. Creative, engaging, compelling, all the things you want in a room so heavily reliant on the pay off of the final discovery. And pay off it does. The hint system is clever, the puzzles and storyline were flawless, the set was stunning, just an amazing finish from start to end. If you’re in Japan make sure you’re putting Studio Escape at the top of your list, there’s genuinely none better.

We did Shadow Zen and loved it so much that we booked this room for the next day. Another amazing room! It’s a very fun and aesthetically pleasing murder mystery—rich in story telling, with great effects. Not scary, just a fun and slightly spooky seance vibe requiring the player to figure out who the real killer is. You can absolutely do it in English. The owner is British and speaks both Japanese and English, so it can be done easily in either language.

Review from when we played in October 2024: We loved the immersive nature of the room. The puzzles were mostly deductive and well themed, the set design was impeccable and overall the narrative focus of the room was well crafted. My husband and I are his escape room fans and seek out well reviewed rooms- we both would consider this one of the top 5 rooms we have done (comparing it to the Man from Beyond) and would be very interested to do more of their rooms in our future Osaka trips!

Our highly anticipated visit to Studio Escape lived up to the hype! Madame LeClaire, the first room we played, was a masterclass in storytelling and atmosphere. The tech and special effects were magnificently impressive but well-hidden and seamlessly integrated into the narrative. Studio Escape calls itself “experiential cinema”, which is a perfect description of what the room felt like. You are immersed into the story as soon as you enter the door, and every single puzzle advances the plot with impeccable flow. Even the clue system (if you can call it that) is designed around immersion, ensuring the presence of the gamemaster is entirely absent from the experience.
