Monster Mashers

Monster Mashers (Dark Mode) by Tales of Torchdale was the 3rd room of the day and the 9th game of our NL/BE Escape Tour 2026. Seeing that it’s already sitting at #3 in TERPECA 2025 (at the time of writing) tells you a lot, but experiencing it explains why. This is unusually fun in a way that’s hard to describe without smiling while thinking about it. We were a team of 4 and from start to finish, the room keeps surprising you. There are constant wow moments, clever reveals, and theatrical beats that make it feel closer to a live production than a traditional escape room. The acting is superb. The atmosphere fully commits to the story, and the lighting and sound design elevate everything into something cinematic. The “scary” element is very manageable. My wife, who normally gets scared quite easily, was completely fine throughout. The tone balances tension and playfulness brilliantly. The puzzles lean toward the easier side, which is to be expected with the type of experience. The focus here is immersion and spectacle, but the gameplay remains enjoyable and satisfying. This is one of those rooms that reminds you why you love escape rooms in the first place. I cannot recommend it enough.

We really wanted to do midnight mode, but unfortunately was not possible to book that time. I can imagine how great it would be to do the game after dark. Very impressive idea of the game and set. It was not scary and our group enjoyed experience a lot. I would recommend to plan few hours for that experience! Definitely recommend when visiting Belgium.

Creative, humorous and exciting. Company seems to be run by people passionate about immersive entertainment and escape rooms. Highly recommended, go play it!

what a fun experience - you should do this one even if you are scared - you won’t regret it, it’s just so much fun sand so creative

Whether it's the set, the music, the sheer scale, or the brilliant acting - everything is superb in this one-of-a-kind experience. Just like its inspirations Scooby-Doo and Ghostbusters, Monster Mashers puts quirky fun centre stage instead of the scare factor.

One of the most fun rooms I've ever played. It was full of highly entertaining surprises with a unique location(s), hysterical cold open, and on point acting. It's clear that all of the staff are having a great time creating this magical experience for guests. This room is very deserving of a #3 TERPECA spot. ❤️

Insane escape room that left us speechless more than once. Had to sit down a few times and just take it all in.

This is best intro to a game I've ever experienced. And it's not even close. The opening doesn't ramp up as much as burst open like a shaken soda. The first 15 minutes are as close to pure uncut Saturday morning cartoon dopamine as you're ever likely to experience. And even after that, the game is just pure fun. It's a game built of laughter and specters, lunacy and freewheeling camp. This is a game that grabs you by the shirt collar and bolts laughing into the night. Does the final act go as wild as it could have? No. There are moments when it could have doubled down on its own cartoon frenzy. But with a game this iconic, it's enough that it ends entertainingly. Playing Monster Mashers is like getting a PhD in fun.

The opening sequence (~15-30 min) of the game is phenomenal, definitely one of my favorites ever. The set is fantastic and atmospheric, and the music is both a joy to listen to and sets the mood very well. I'm a sucker for the game's theme, and the actors were very fun to improv with. If I had to nitpick, the end of the game didn't live up to the strong opening, and it wasn't clear to us how we were supposed to react to certain things happening (i.e. is this for atmosphere or are the GMs trying to tell us not to do X?). Also, a few puzzles throughout the game felt like they could be replaced with something more engaging. Play night mode if you can; as I understand the differences, the atmosphere should be much more thematic.

Exciting, goofy, spooky fun! We were recommended this room and added it to our escape room trip itinerary last minute and so glad we decided to book an late-night 11PM experience knowing nothing about it. lol. This was such an entertaining experience, we were scared, laughing our pants off, (and falling over backwards?!) puzzling our way through two wild hours in the middle of the night. We don't usually do scary rooms but this one was so fun and worth the thrill - won't share any spoilers, better to just go do it! We are so glad we add it last minute. Despite being a somewhat scary escape experience, the puzzles were actually really good as well.
