298 escape rooms
The room physically was fine. Very classic murder house room. It was just a lot of little things that amounted to me not really enjoying the experience - There was A LOT of preamble of what we were allowed and not allowed to do before the room. Totally get safety, but this was a lot of instructions beyond that (such as “don’t do this until you are told” or “you can open this but not this”). - There was one jump scare with a live actor. Supposedly the more interesting interaction with the live actor was skipped for us because we didn’t have enough people (we had 5) - which then meant that was more clarification over the intercom about certain props to ignore which took us out of the vibe/flow of the room. - One puzzle could barely be made out even looking right at it and knowing what we were seeing. Host had to tell us the answer. - Two other puzzles the host “helped us” unprompted over the intercom, again, really disrupting the vibe/ambiance (we thought there was going to be a whole other room based on how much she was helping but we still escaped with 15 minutes left). Host was delightful but I question the design/space of any room if that much interjection is needed by staff. I think there are much better spooky rooms for both vibe and puzzles west of Toronto.
