The Stray Cat Speakeasy

Second room at Black Cat. Immersion was nice and puzzles were fun. It’s nonlinear so not always clear what goes with what which is part of the fun. Plenty of things in play at once to keep 5 of us engaged. Some locks, but puzzle types were well balanced and felt natural overall.

It was worth doing one time. I would say it is not for kids, more of an adult/teenager game.

This is the best escape company in Virginia Beach, easily. I appreciated they can scale their games; however, this one was really too easy even on advanced. There was only one difficult puzzle, and it was more difficult in its execution ("a slog") than its concept. That said, all other puzzles were fun, the set was great, the light story made sense. Just needs more puzzles! Absolutely do this on advanced (or at least intermediate), even if you're a beginner. I can't imagine there's enough here without the 4 additional puzzles for advanced!

We absolutely loved this room! We played it at the hardest difficulty and it was doable with only 2 people, though we are more experienced with escape rooms. Don’t be too scared to go with the advanced difficulty, especially if you’re a bigger group. It will give everyone something to do!

The standard was super easy and made the game seem very linear being standard. Had a group of 9, 3 children under 10, and 2 adults who never did an escape room before.

If you haven't done one with them, you need to. The immersion, the attention to detail, even the hints, are all immaculate. You can tell that the people who own, create, and operate these games all LOVE escape rooms.

Extremely thoughtfully done rooms, the props were authentic and unique!

Love this location, can’t wait for their next room to open! This room made great use of non padlocked puzzles. You really had to be attentive to detail in this one. My wife and I were playing with just the 2 of us, so we went with the medium level difficulty which I think is perfect for 2 players

9.2/10 Neat that it had different levels of difficulty. I’m glad we did the most difficult. It was a lotmof back and fourth which was kind of refreshing to utilize the WHOLE space well. Very well sized and a neat them. Cool use of technology at the end.

One of the best lobby’s around. Truly something worth checking out. Such a friendly staff, our GM Olivia was so great. Personable and such an exuberance for the game. A nice little entrance to the room that actually was a bit more involved than you were made to tau. Nicely themed. That is something that is really done well at Black Cat. YYou can tell they love their work. The only issue with Speakeasy rooms is that puzzles tend to fall into five categories: money, dice, drinks, poker chips and cards. This room is no different, however there were some novel a approaches to these well used puzzles. The card puzzle was particularly fun and interesting.
