Pharaoh's Curse V2

We visited Countdown Games and signed on for 3 games for the day: Pharaoh’s Curse, Ghost Town, and Castle. Overall, I would say Pharaoh’s Curse was the narrow consensus for the best experience of the day. No lock and key ❌ 🔐, all puzzles which we enjoy. We have done over 60 rooms and this one had a couple aspects new to us. Plenty of activities. We would call this a medium hard room, but highly enjoyable. Very immersive rooms. Countdown Games is NOT a chain, and all the rooms we did were very immersive. The only area which I think they could do better is with the Game Masters. None of our three seemed overly invested in the experience. Not terrible, but not what we expected. The room though is very good!

Pharaoh’s Curse V2 is a stunning room with incredible atmosphere. The set design was beautiful from the moment we stepped inside, detailed, immersive, and full of that classic ancient-tomb adventure energy. The puzzles fit the theme well, and the room had a great flow that kept us engaged the whole time. The only drawback was the physicality involved. It’s absolutely manageable for many players, but it would’ve been helpful to know ahead of time, especially for anyone with mobility concerns. A simple heads-up before booking would make the experience smoother for everyone. Overall, it was a memorable and visually impressive room, and the creativity behind it really shows. A great adventure, just be prepared to move a bit!

It’s a very fun room. I had a great time and the review is definitely between heart and thumbs up.

For those playing this room for the first time, you will likely enjoy it! For people who have played V1 of this room, it’s not a very different room. We played both, and enjoyed V1 more, although that may have been because we weren’t comparing it to any other version. However, this version does have some new elements that are fun and engaging!

Quality of the room was great. The puzzles were interesting and inventive and the tech level was impressive for a non-chain location. We were a bit disappointed with the experience with the staff. With most non-chain, you can tell they have a passion for escape rooms, but with the staff here there was no enthusiasm or passion, it was just a job.

This room was fun, but is not the best game at Countdown. It did have some very neat elements and no traditional locks or keys.

Not the best room at Countdown and not long enough, but it's worth playing now that they re-vamped it.
